ON TV CONTEST

When you need to laugh the blues away, where do you turn? To the little bar in Boston? To the offices of WKRP?

For the On TV Contest, the judge asks: What is your favorite sitcom? Why?

It’s very simple. Just choose a halfhour, scripted comedy series and tell the judge why it’s the cream of the crop.

Please note the word “scripted.” That means no “reality” shows. And no hourlong series. You may think Ally McBeal was absolutely hilarious, but it’s not eligible for this one.

The entry can take any form you like as long as you explain your choice. And do keep in mind that the judge always gives bonus points for humor and creativity.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72201 or by e-mail to jnixon@arkansasonline. com. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. July 9.

The reader with the best-written entry will get to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Judy Thornton of Clarksville, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
