Florida State is chasing its 26th straight win over an ACC opponent, a streak that dates to a 2012 loss at North Carolina State, and is out for its fourth straight 4-0 start. The league record is 29 straight, set by FSU from 1992-95. Wake Forest would like to give Dave Clawson a signature victory in his second season at the school and earn its first win over a ranked team since knocking off the then-22nd-ranked Seminoles in 2011.

Key matchup

Wake Forest’s young offensive line vs. Florida State’s improved pass rush. No team in the ACC has allowed more sacks than the Demon Deacons (15), and they gave up six last week to Indiana. The Seminoles have six sacks in three games after finishing last season with an ACC-fewest 17.

Players to watch

Florida State: RB Dalvin Cook. The ACC’s leading rusher may have to shoulder even more of the rushing load with RB Mario Pender ruled out with a collapsed lung. Clawson says Cook — who averages nearly 159 yards — is perhaps the fastest player he’s faced in two years at Wake Forest.

Wake Forest: TE Cam Serigne was the go-to receiver for Kendall Hinton in the freshman QB’s first start last week, catching five passes for 72 yards. If the Demon Deacons are going to move the ball through the air against the ACC’s No. 3 pass defense, he will have to find ways to get open.
