BELLA VISTA — John D. Giggy, 71, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away on Dec. 2, 2015, at Circle of Life in Bentonvill­e, Ark. He was born in Duncan, Okla., May 5, 1944, to Burrton Keith Giggy and Mary Alma (Alley) Giggy.

He grew up in Kansas where he attended grade school in Russell, graduated from high school in Great Bend and received a BA degree in art and psychology at Emporia State Teachers College.

He worked for the Emporia Gazette and the Wichita Eagle and Beacon before becoming the advertisin­g manager for Fleming Foods Wichita Division in 1968. His passion was his career with Fleming where he had the opportunit­y to work with some amazing people and live in various parts of the country for 34 years. In 2003 he went to work for Ivie & Associates out of Dallas and moved to Bella Vista having Sam’s Club as a client.

He retired in 2005 and joined the Bella Vista Fly Tyers and was an active member of Bella Vista Community Church serving on various boards. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, collecting guns and being with his family. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, being a great conversati­onalist and a walking encycloped­ia.

John (Gig) is survived by his wife of 49 years Mary Lou (Freund) Giggy of Bella Vista; one daughter, Laura (Gig) and her husband Steve Ferro of Gladstone, Mo.; one son, Chris ( Gig) Giggy and his wife Amy of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Keith (Tony) Giggy and his wife Kay of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; a sister Darla (Gig) Jones and her husband John of Salina, Kan.; two granddaugh­ters Gabriella Ferro, and Sophia Giggy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service and celebratio­n of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Bella Vista Community Church with Pastor Jeff Reed officiatin­g.

BELLA VISTA — Jewell M. Payne of Bella Vista passed away on Dec. 2, 2015. She was born on April 19, 1923, in El Dorado, Kan., to the late Clarence and Lieu Ella Russell.

She married James Payne on Sept. 20, 1940, at was his wife for 61 years until his death in 2002.

Jewell graduated from El Dorado High School in 1940. She was a member of the Bella Vista East Congregati­on of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She will be remembered as a gracious, loving woman who valued her family.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Cowan and husband Ira, Daniel C. Payne and wife Karen, Deborah Adkins and husband Bill, Priscilla Popejoy and husband Wiley; a daughter- in- law, Bonita Payne; grandchild­ren, Phillip, Leanna, Cheryle, Lori, Katrina, Joanna, Greg, Jon, Kelley, Summer, Anthony, Ryan, Melinda, Robert, Michael, Dustin, Lacy; 39 great-grandchild­ren; and three greatgreat grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Timothy Payne; and siblings, Viola Thomas, Letha Baxter, Viva Viers, and Charlie Russell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A family graveside service will follow. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1013 Kingsland Road, in Bella Vista.

BENTONVILL­E — Willard Ellis “Rocky” Glidewell, Commander, U. S. Navy ( Ret.), age 103, of Bentonvill­e, died Dec. 2, 2015, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e. He was born in Jackson County, Ill., on April 19, 1912, to the late George and Ada (Smith) Glidewell.

Rocky lived a full life. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1930 and honorably served his country, retiring from active duty in 1958.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Lou Glidewell, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Heather McDonald; a son, Hunter Glidewell; two sisters and one brother.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Jane Ione Allen, 93, of Fayettevil­le died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Springdale. She was born Nov. 20, 1922 i n Jackson County, Wis., the daughter of Martin Kitelinger and Lousia Yoss. She was a member of Wiggins United Methodist Church. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several years and was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vern Allen and nine siblings.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Holt of Fayettevil­le, Dorothy Ball of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandchild­ren, Lee Holt of Farmington, Jasa Holt of Olympia, Wash., Tammy Thomas of Lakeview, Ark., Shana Comfort of Mountain Home, Ark.; six great-grandchild­ren and three great-great grandchild­ren.

Family will have a memorial service at a later date.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Joe (Jody) David Knox Jr., formerly of Harrison, passed away at his home in Fayettevil­le, Ark., on Nov. 27, 2015. He was the son of Joe D. Knox Sr. and Linda Baker.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Linda Baker, and grandparen­ts: Clarence and Essie Martin and Joe and Kathleen Knox.

He is survived by his wife, Terry, of the home; four children and four step-children: Austin, Claire, Makinzie, Connor, Rob, Houdini, Keisha, and Dakota; one brother, Marty Knox; a niece, Alex Knox; and several grandbabie­s. Jody was loved very much and will be missed by all who knew him.

Graveside services will be Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. No visitation is scheduled.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Wilbur Wayne Smith, 74, of Fayettevil­le passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born May 12, 1941, in Copper Spur, Colo., to Coy and Gladys Curtis Smith.

Wilbur worked in Constructi­on. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy “Buddy” Smith Jr. and David Smith; one sister, Willa Faye House and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Smith of the home; one son, Craig Smith and wife Cecilia of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Sherry Combs and husband Brent of Springdale and Michele Torgersen and husband Douglas of Milford, Penn.; two sisters, Joan Thornton and husband Steve of Marshfield, Mo., and Charlotte Calton of Ozark, Mo.; five grandchild­ren, Jason Combs, Jessica Combs, Ingrid Smith, Samantha Smith and Hailey Smith.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Truman E. Yancey, age 88, of Fayettevil­le, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in Fayettevil­le. He was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Humphrey, Ark., the son of Emmet Charles and Lera Brantley Yancey.

He retired from the United States Army with the rank of Lt. Colonel after 23 years of service. His highest award in his military career was the Legion of Merit. After receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas, he practiced law in Fayettevil­le. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Yancey; two sons, Steven Yancey of Fayettevil­le and Thomas Yancey and his wife Teresa of Hot Springs; two sisters, Iola Seamon of Alexander, Ark. and Wanda Gordon of San Diego, Calif. and a grandson, Matthew John Yancey of Hot Springs.

Cremation arrangemen­ts are by Moore’s Chapel. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Margaret Lee “Margie” Young, 73 of Fayettevil­le, Ark ., passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in Fayettevil­le. She was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Louisville, Ky., to Hewett A. Slack and Irene L. (Siler) Slack.

Margie moved with her family as a teenager to Memphis, Tenn. She met her future husband the first evening at Northwest Mississipp­i Jr. College, as she had planned. Margie married Seth Yarbrough Young III of Marshall County, Miss. The services were performed by her father in Ashland, Benton Co., Miss. ,at the Baptist Church there. She and her family moved to Fayettevil­le, Ark., in 1967. She received a BS Degree in Interior Design in the Home Economics Department, University of Arkansas. Margie was an Administra­tive Secretary there, and later retired as a Home Economics Instructor and student advisor. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Virginia “Gina” Rogers, and two brothers, Hewett Slack and John Slack.

She is survived by her husband, Seth Yarbrough Young III; one son, Seth Yarbrough Young IV and wife Tammy of Farmington, Ark.; two daughters, Laurie Lee Young Breeden and husband D.R. of Ft. Smith, Ark., Karen Suzanne Holmes and husband Carey of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; one sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Lefler of Bakersfiel­d, Calif.; nine grandchild­ren, Sarah Elaine Haakenson Edwards, Matthew Kevin Haakenson, Emily Kathryn Haakenson Freeman, Coy Layne Holmes, Chadd Austin Holmes, Ashleigh Lauryn Young Gray, Seth Yarbrough Young V, Macie Jewell Young, Laadan Hewett Young; and two great-grandchild­ren, Lincoln Michael Gray, and Rowan Bishop Gray.

LOWELL — Linda Kay Breedlove Blankenshi­p, 61, of Lowell, Ark., passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. She was born Aug. 7, 1954, in Harrison, Ark., to Hulet Breedlove and Vernus (Plumlee) Breedlove. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Blankenshi­p; two sons, Aaron Huffmaster of Vilonia, Ark., Billy Huffmaster of Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Elizabeth Huffmaster Schoonveld of Jasper, Ark.; two stepsons, Chris Blankenshi­p of Owings, Md., and Denny Blankenshi­p of Destin, Fla.; two brothers, R.B. ROGERS — Candy Lynn Ford, 50, of Rogers passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born Nov. 2, 1965, to Sidney and Imogene Spears Griffith in Springdale, Ark.

Candy was a Teacher’s Aide. She loved her family and lived for her children. She was an animal lover and enjoyed going to the park. She had a kind heart and always willing to help. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, biking, and reading. She loved her job and her co-workers. She attended the United Methodist Church of Rogers.

She was preceded in death by one nephew, Jimmy Gray

and her grandfathe­r, Arthur Spears.

She is survived by her parents, Sidney and Imogene Griffith of Springdale; her grandmothe­r, Artie Spears of Springdale; her husband, Dennis Ford of the home; one son, Caleb Ford and wife, Rebecca of Abilene, Texas; one daughter, Chrystal Womack and husband, Josh of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; three grandchild­ren: Trinity, Contessa, and Alex; one sister, Gwen Griffith of Springdale, Ark.; two uncles, Carold Spears and wife, Bunny of South Carolina, Harold Spears and wife, Jan of Rogers, Ark.; one aunt, Betty Robertson of Springdale, Ark.; one cousin, Marsha Robertson of Hickory Creek; and one nephew, Ryan Mostogah.

ROGERS — Harold Arthur Parker, 76, of Rogers passed away Sunday, Nov. 29. He was born April 21, 1939, in St. Joseph, Mo., to the late John Donald William Parker and Mildred M. Nelson Parker.

Following graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Army before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. A twin-engine rated pilot, he loved to fly, pilot his boat and the buying, restoring and selling of collectabl­e cars. In later years he enjoyed spending time with his pets, feeding the birds and squirrels, drinking coffee and ‘solving the world’s problems’ at Braum’s. He was also an avid fan of the Razorbacks and Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Betty.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Patricia Parker of the home; two daughters, Terri and husband Wayne VanLaningh­am of Rogers, Lisa and husband Mike Walski of Springfiel­d, Mo.; two sons, Robert and wife Dondra Parker of Lincoln and Mark Parker of Rogers; his brother, Donald Moffitt; six granddaugh­ers, Amber, Stephanie, Kristen, Crystal, Vanessa and Ashley; six grandsons, Joshua, Steven, Justin, Christophe­r, Jerad and Zachary; 14 great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec .7, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

SPRINGDALE — Annabelle Dressler Kuykendall, age 86, of Springdale, left this world peacefully on Dec. 3, 2015, in Springdale. She was born July 6, 1929, in Monte Vista, Colo., to Peter and Stella Gutierrez.

She was married for 53 years to Earl Kuykendall who preceded her to their heavenly home. Also awaiting her arrival is her daughter, Stella, her son Robert (BK), her parents and her stepfather, Paul Dressler.

Ann attended First Assembly of God Church and First Baptist Church of Springdale. In recent years, she was a resident of Walnut Grove Nursing Home where she made many friends. Ann loved the Lord, her family and her dog, Prince.

Her surviving family includes her daughter, Glenda Miller, and her son, John Kuykendall, both of Springdale; six grandchild­ren; nine great-grandchild­ren; and one sister, Echo Wilson, of Everett, Wash.

SPRINGDALE — Jonathan Scott Lusk, 61, of Spring dale passed away Dec. 2, 2015, in Little Rock, Ark., from an acute critical illness. He was born May 12, 1954, in Elmhurst, Ill., to Robert Reuben Lusk and Joana Ruth Webb.

He moved with his family to Mountain Home, Ark. He lived in Fayettevil­le and Springdale for the last 40 years.

Jonathan graduated from Fayettevil­le High School and the University of Arkansas with a degree in Agricultur­e/ Animal Science. He continued his love for animals working at the Tulsa and Little Rock Zoos. He is best known for his NWA Reptile Museum. He had a real passion for sharing his love of reptiles with the community which was evident as soon as you walked through those doors.

He loved serving God and in his church with his wife, which also brought him great happiness.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Spicer Lusk of the home and her children Lori Love of Springdale, David Graham of Bentonvill­e, and Michael Graham of Idaho Falls; one sister, Ruthanne Lusk Whitehead with her husband Mark of Bentonvill­e and their daughter Tiffany; two brothers, Randy Lusk with his wife Francie of Hot Springs Village and his children Robbie and Christie and Kevin Lusk with his wife Corrinne of Sheridan and his two sons Brently and William.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 6738 Lynch’s Prairie Ct., Springdale, Ark. 72762 with Bishop David Atherton officiatin­g.

SPRINGDALE — Bettye Joe McDaniel, 93, of Springdale, passed away Dec. 4, 2015, in Springdale. She was born July 6, 1922, in Lowell, Ark., t o Ho ra c e B. and Nina Cowan Neil.

She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Cave Springs. She was a Christian and raised her family to love The Lord. She was a homemaker. She loved her family. She loved to paint pictures. She was a great cook and a great mom. She enjoyed the company of people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. McDaniel; two brothers, Lindell Neil, Hayden Neil; one sister, Eva Louise Neil.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnne Millar and husband, Lenny of Springdale and Jan Adele Rybolt and husband, Jim of Ashland, Mo.; two brothers, Vaughn Neil and wife, Carolyn and Clyde Neil and wife, Grace, all of Springdale; five grandchild­ren: Erin Rybolt Linn, Sarah and Matt Rybolt, Jeffrey and Eric Millar; eight great-grandchild­ren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Johnny Harp and Pastor Charlie Foster officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — Othel G. Sharp, age 88, of Springdale, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in Springdale. He was born June 26, 1927, in Lavaca, Ark., the son of Emery and Ola Gann Sharp.

He was retired from life insurance sales and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le. He enjoyed playing golf throughout his life and served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ethel Moss Sharp; three daughters, Deborah Bowman and her husband Bill of Dallas, Texas, Pam Smith and her husband Bob of Rogers and Lisa Brady and her husband Kevin of Springdale; seven grandsons; 12 great-grandchild­ren; and a sister, Helen McNabb of Tulsa, Okla.

Visitation will be 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Moore’s Chapel followed by a service at 1 p.m. There will be a private family burial at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearer­s.

WITTER — Brett Scott Robinson, 44, of Witter died Friday. He was born March 18, 1971, in Fayettevil­le to Jerry and Mary “Susie” Engel– Robinson.

NAPLES, Fla. — Steven David Turner of Naples, Fla., passed away on a beautiful November 20th morning, with sunlight steaming into the room, my precious husband passed from my arms, and sister Linda’s arms, to the angels after a brief, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steven was born in Utica, N.Y., on March 28, 1959. He graduated from the University of Missouri and then moved to California where he met and married his soulmate of 33 years, Diane.

He had a stellar career as a Sales and Marketing executive in the Silicon Valley high-tech industry. He then followed his dreams and moved to Naples where he started BridgeWay Internatio­nal in 1999. A bicycle design and manufactur­ing company with factories in China, it has become one of the largest companies of its kind in the world and Wal-Mart is one of its biggest customers. He recently retired, but remained as Chairman of the Board. He literally changed the way business was done in the industry–magnificen­tly.

His infectious smile, warm and exuberantl­y happy personalit­y won many friends here and around the world. He touched so many lives and was so loved by those who knew him. His most precious times were spent in his garden, in the kitchen cooking with Diane and being in the home he loved. He also loved the water and had to be near it, in it or on it. He was a writer of fiction with one novel completed and enjoyed golfing and fishing with his ‘brothers’.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Stine and David Turner and two infant brothers, Michael and Mark.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; sisters Linda (Mark) Yancey, Susan ( Michael) Sherlock; brothers Chris and Kevin; uncle Dick Newall as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, of whom he was so proud; and his beloved Yorkies, Teri and Toni. He will be deeply, deeply missed.

A private family service was held in November. A Remembranc­e/Celebratio­n of Life will be held in March. Memorial donations may be made in Steven’s name to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of SWFL or the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

FLINT, Mich. — Julius B. Russell, age 93, of Flint formerly of Arkansas, died Dec. 2, 2015. Private services were held. Arrangemen­ts handled by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, Mich.

Julius was born June 19, 1922 in Walnut Ridge, Ark., the son of Irvy and Elsie (Borah) Russell. He married Irene F. Hudson in Memphis, Tenn. on Feb. 27, 1948. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed at GM.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Russell; four children, Anna M. (Chris) Davis, Judy (James) McAuley, Roger T. (Teresa) Russell; two grandchild­ren, Jon M. McAuley, Machaela E. Russell; sister, Joyce Payne.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Walter F. Russell.

PLANO, Texas — John Malcolm (Johnny) Miller III, age 56, formerly of Bella Vista, was born in Salem, Ark., Jan. 10, 1959. He passed away unexpected­ly at his home in Plano, Texas, on Nov. 26, 2015.

John is survived by his mother Deanna Miller; sister Kathryn Anderson of Plano, Texas; brother James Miller and wife Teri Huffaker of Rome, Ga.; brother John Wesley Miller and wife Phoebe, nephews Liam Miller, Jack Pool, and niece Emelia Pool of Cabot, Ark.

John was a 1977 graduate of Salem High and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1981 with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. Shortly after graduation, John was sworn in as the youngest Chief Deputy Coroner for Pulaski County, Ark.

John settled in NW Arkansas where his profession­al career included positions as Executive Account Manager for companies including Sales Mark, Acosta, and Saputo Cheese. He primarily dealt with Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club which included some internatio­nal travel as well. John worked in several different positions which allowed him to see a large part of the U.S. from Washington State to the Gulf Coast. Additional­ly, he provided invaluable service to his mom as the office and property manager at The Bend Realty in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. prior to her retirement.

John was extremely generous and outgoing. He never met a stranger and was gracious and giving to all who knew him. His spirit and passion for life could not be equaled. John was well known for his love of animals and he cared for many rescued dogs throughout his life. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. John always attended church wherever he lived and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark.. for the many years he lived there.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends and many associates.

A celebratio­n of John’s life will be held at a later date in his beloved Arkansas.
