Second runner hit by car in Rogers

ROGERS — A 24-yearold man was injured Wednesday night while jogging on Cross Creek Boulevard near Willowridg­e Way, according to police.

Alex Goff of Rogers was running west about 5:45 p.m. when a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by Jerusha Zollinger, 39, hit him from behind, according to police.

The speed limit in the subdivisio­n is 25 mph. A neighborho­od trail crosses Willowridg­e Way near Cross Creek Boulevard. Sidewalks line the boulevard.

Goff was on the road’s edge, according to police.

Goff was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le, police said. He was not listed as a patient there Thursday.

Fire Department records showed a man was taken to a hospital for a head injury and ankle fracture from the same location on Wednesday night.

No citations have been issued, police said.

It is the second time in a week a vehicle hit a person who was running in Rogers near dusk.

Jennifer Bikel, 40, of Rogers was hit about 6:20 p.m. Feb. 3 by a pickup outside the Village on the Creeks shopping center on 52nd Street. Joseph Farnan, 53, of Rogers was turning right out of the shopping center and hit Bikel, according to police. Bikel, who was jogging on the sidewalk, was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center.
