Survey asks if fans want to go ‘Crazy’

The Minnesota Wild may be changing their goal song for the 2016-2017 NHL season.

And it could be one from a Minnesota music icon.

Prince’s 1984 hit “Let’s Go Crazy,” which was used by the Wild during Game 6 of the Western Conference first round earlier this year as a goal song, is one of the options.

The Wild recently sent an email to season ticket holders with a five-question survey, which included a question about the team’s goal song. The options: “No! The current song [Joe Satriani’s “Crowd Chant”] is perfect!”

“Yes! Honor Prince by adopting ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ ”

“Yes! But let us pick the new one from a number of options.”

“Yes! And here is the song that I recommend.”

Prince died at his Paisley Park recording studio outside Minneapolis in April. He was 57.

Cart ride

California will give away a bobblehead commemorating Marshawn Lynch’s golf cart ride this season.

Lynch hopped on a cart after the Golden Bears’ 31-24 overtime victory over Washington in 2006. His 22-yard touchdown run gave Cal the victory in overtime.

Cal is giving away the bobblehead Nov. 5 for its home game against Washington.

No word on whether Lynch, who retired earlier this year after a nine-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks, will ride the cart again this November.

Got butter?

Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers now have a new way to savor the team’s NBA title.

The Cavaliers are being honored with butter sculptures at this year’s Ohio State Fair, which opened Wednesday in Columbus.

The butter sculpture display includes life-sized Cavaliers’ mascots Moondog and Sir C.C., along with the Larry O’Brien Trophy. The trophy sculpture is about 4 feet tall, much larger than the actual award.

The display took about 2,150 pounds of butter and 500 hours to complete. The sculptors began by building wooden and steel frames to support the sculptures’ weight. They then formed each sculpture from 55-pound blocks.

The American Dairy Association Mideast has sponsored butter sculptures since the early 1900s. The displays are inspired by a theme representing something “optimistic and noncontroversial” about Ohio.

High road

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is passing on an opportunity to go into detail about his relationship with his reality show contestant-brother.

Jordan Rodgers is one of the suitors on the ABC dating show, The Bachelorette. He spoke on a recent episode of being estranged from his older sibling.

Aaron Rodgers said he hasn’t seen the show, “so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot.” The two-time NFL MVP typically shies away from talking about his private life.

The Packers opened training camp Tuesday. When asked after practice, the quarterback said that he’s always found it “a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters,” though he wished Jordan well in the competition.
