Texarkana police investigate death of 12-year-old boy

Texarkana police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy over the weekend.

Officers found the boy about 2 p.m. while investigating a report of a shooting Saturday at a home on East 50th Street, Texarkana police spokesman Kristi Bennett said.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It wasn’t clear how the boy was shot, Bennett said. Other children and adults were at the home at the time of the gunfire.

“The criminal investigation division is continuing an investigation into the cause of the shooting,” Bennett said.
