The Lions scored two runs in the bot­tom of the sev­enth in­ning to edge Har-Ber in the sea­son-opener for both teams Mon­day. Gravette (1-0) took an early 2-0 lead, but HarBer (0-1) ral­lied for three runs in the top of the fifth in­ning to take a 3-2 lead.

The Lions banged out seven hits, led by Sumer Kaba, who home­red, dou­bled and had 2 RBIs. Robin Davis was 2-for-3, and Emily El­lis and Cally Kil­dow each had a dou­ble. Claire Col­lier dou­bled and had 2 RBIs for Har-Berm and Hon­estly Holt was 2-for-3.

Kil­dow earned the win in the cir­cle, pitch­ing a com­plete game with 15 strike­outs. Cearra McPher­son took the loss for Har-Ber.


BEN­TONVILLE WEST 4, PRAIRIE GROVE 3 The Wolver­ines held off Prairie Grove to win their ben­e­fit game Mon­day.

West led 4-0, but al­lowed three Prairie Grove runs in the bot­tom of the sev­enth in­ning. The Wolver­ines banged out 12 hits, led by Ja­son Gloeck­ler, who was 3-for-4. Zach Tram­mell was was 2-for-4 and Jaron Jenk­ins was 2-for-2. Mar­lin Keller was 2-for-3.

Ten West pitch­ers com­bined to give up just 3 hits with 12 strike­outs.
