SOFTBALL Bentonvill­e High 4, Farmington 1

Haley Cornell’s two-run home run broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Bentonvill­e to a nonconfere­nce victory Wednesday at Farmington.

Megan Crownover singled in the sixth inning before Cornell’s blast, her eighth home run of the season. Cailey Cochran added an RBI single in the seventh for Bentonvill­e (19-1).

Maddy Prough (14-1) threw a four-hitter and struck out eight.

BOYS SOCCER Rogers High 3, Springdale High 0

Three different Mounties scored a goal each to pick up a big 7A-West Conference win.

David Salinas, Jessie Ramirez and Alex Balderas each had a goal for Rogers (8-3, 6-1 7A-West). Horacio Olivera also added two assists. The Mounties travel to Springdale Har-Ber on Friday for a matchup of league co-leaders.

Russellvil­le 4, Siloam Springs 0

Carlos Escobar scored three goals and the Cyclones defeated the Panthers in a rematch of last year’s Class 6A state title game on Wednesday.

Escobar’s first goal gave the Cyclones (13-1-2) a 1-0 lead at halftime. He added two more goals in the second half for a 3-0 lead, and Nate Turner added a fourth goal for the Cyclones in the 73rd minute.

The Panthers fell to 12-4-1 on the year and 3-1 in 5A/6A District 1.

Siloam Springs 2, Clarksvill­e 1

Siloam Springs scored a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-1 5A/6A District 1 victory over Class 5A Clarksvill­e in a battle of Panthers on Tuesday afternoon.

After Clarksvill­e took a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute, Alejandro Telles found Eli Jackson for a goal in the 28th minute for Siloam Springs’ first goal and to tie the game 1-1.

Aric Lee assisted to Christian Marroquin in the 31st minute for what would be the game-winning goal.

GIRLS SOCCER Fayettevil­le 1, Springdale Har-Ber 1 (4-0 PKs)

The Lady Purple’Dogs won their second match in as many nights in dramatic fashion, besting Springdale Har-Ber in a shootout.

After regulation ended with the score knotted at 1-1, Fayettevil­le (11-2, 6-1 7A-West) received goals from Myra Tubb, Bailey Lindsey, Reagan Resz and Ashton Rogers, whose shot clinched the victory after Har-Ber (7-5, 4-3) had its first shot stopped by keeper Gracie Cape and the others were misses.

Georgia Templeton scored off of a throw-in early in the first half and Har-Ber’s Vanessa Reynoso headed in a goal off of a free kick to account for the scoring during regulation.

Fayettevil­le travels to Bentonvill­e on Friday while the Lady Wildcats host Rogers High.

Rogers High 4, Springdale High 0

Four different Lady Mounties scored as the Lady Mounties picked up the shutout win in 7A-West Conference action Tuesday night.

Abby Revoir, Leslie Barrales, Sydney Figenskau and Sienna Nealon each had goals as Rogers (7-41, 5-2 7A-West) has now won three out of its last four matches. Ashlyn Babbitt, Rosy Orellana and Makenna Johnson also each had an assist. Keeper Mac Brace also picked up the shutout.

Siloam Springs 2, Russellvil­le 1

Sydney Bomstad’s goal with 26:18 left in the second half broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Lady Panthers the winning edge in a rematch of last year’s Class 6A state title game.

The match originally began on April 5 but was postponed by weather with 13:55 left in the first half and the Lady Panthers (14-2, 4-0 5A/6A District 1) ahead 1-0 after an Audrey Maxwell goal.

When play resumed Wednesday, Russellvil­le tied the game up on a goal by Elise Daiber before halftime for a 1-1 score.

Siloam Springs 6, Clarksvill­e 1

Audrey Maxwell tied a Siloam Springs record Tuesday with another hat trick in the victory against Class 5A Clarksvill­e on Tuesday.

Maxwell’s three-goal game gave her a total of 27 for the season, which ties a single-season Siloam Springs record set by Sarah Kidd in 2006 and Adrienne Kennedy in 2011.

Maxwell’s three goals and single goals apiece by Sydney Bomstad, Laura Morales and Hannah Herring gave Siloam Springs a 6-0 lead at halftime. The second half was reduced to 20 minutes via the Arkansas Activities Associatio­n sportsmans­hip rule.

Maxwell also recorded her 12th assist of the season, while Megan Rodgers and Mackenzie Jones also registered assists.
