Springdale police arrested two people Monday they said held a man at knifepoint, took his wallet and forced him to withdraw money from an ATM, according to a preliminary police report.

James Donnell Maxey, 26, of Fayetteville and Michel Stefanie Rascon- Rodriguez, 20, of Springdale were arrested in connection with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Maxey also was arrested on suspicion of violation of probation or a suspended sentence.

A man told police he went in his apartment at 1522 Shannon St. in Springdale about 3:50 p.m. Monday and found two people — one holding a knife — inside, according to the preliminary police report. The man held him at knifepoint while the woman took his wallet and checked his pockets.

They forced the man into his truck. Maxey sat behind him and held a knife to his side while Rascon-Rodriguez drove, the report shows.

The man escaped and ran in the bank when RasconRodriguez and Maxey put the man’s debit card in the ATM machine, police said. They left in the man’s truck.

Rascon- Rodriguez and Maxey stole about $2,000 from the man.

Police said investigators used ATM photos and statements from a witness and the man to identify Maxey and Rascon-Rodriguez.

Fayetteville police arrested Maxey on Feb. 1 in connection with residential burglary and domestic battering in the third degree, Sgt. Craig Stout said Tuesday.

Maxey and Rascon-Rodriguez were at the Washington County Detention Center with no bonds Tuesday.
