Development on the rise in Rogers
ROGERS — Several developments are on the rise following a Planning Commission meeting Tuesday.
Major expansion plans for the Arkansas Arts Academy will add 63,300 square feet to its building at 506 W. Poplar Street in the commercial mixed use zoning district. The project was approved with requested waivers.
Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom is planned to be a 7,291-square-foot restaurant at 1900 W. Pleasant Grove Road in the highway commercial zoning district. Its project was also approved with requested waivers.
Monte Ne Baptist Church will be built as a 7,775-squarefoot structure at 1610 Monte Ne Road in the residential single family zoning district. Its requested waivers were approved.
Plans for 7 Brew Coffee, a 400-square-foot drive through coffee house at 4100 W. Walnut Street in the highway commercial district. Its requested waiver was denied. The business recently constructed other locations at 2101 S. 52nd St. in Village on the Creeks and 2500 E. Central Avenue in Bentonville.
Both planned public hearings were tabled, according to Ethan Hunter, Rogers district planner.
The public hearing for Larry Shaffer’s request to rezone 615 W. Oak Street from residential office and residential office condominium units to residential multifamily with six units per acre for rental purposes will be during the May 16 commission meeting.
The public hearing for Take 5 Oil’s request for a permit to allow vehicle and equipment repair and installation at 4201 W. Walnut in the highway commercial zoning district was delayed to May 16 also.
