No rush to executions

-

John Brummett refers to the executions as “an itch to kill.” The Dallas Morning News said “Arkansas’ desire to beat a deadline … cannot leave open the possibility of getting it wrong.” Ledell Lee was convicted 22 years ago, Jack Jones 21 years ago, Marcel Williams 20 years ago, Kenneth Williams 17 years ago, this after escaping prison and killing Cecil Boren. This is what counts for rushing an execution? The people protesting the executions apparently want to leave the impression that these poor, misunderstood people were convicted and executed all in a short time period. Twenty-two years is not long enough to wait for this group. DNA has been used in a court since 1987. The lawyers for Ledell Lee waited 22 years to ask for DNA testing, really?

People should look at whom, how, and the pain and suffering these people went through before death and the loss to their families. All these people protesting care about is that these poor people don’t suffer. Would these protesters, if their spouse or child was tortured and killed? Our family is in that position now, waiting for justice for almost two years. Due to age, all they can get is years and parole.

These four, I think they should have been executed a year after their conviction, not 22 years, and in the same manner that they killed their victims. I feel for the victims and the families’ loss; nothing for this useless scum. If they suffer, the more the better. Bring back the guillotine, cut the C-spine; no suffering.
