Authors Laurie R. King, S.C. Gwynne, Craig Johnson, Nathalia Holt, C.D. Albin, Sara Flannery Murphy, Rex Nelson, Todd Parnell, Stephanie Story, Alexandra Teague, James and Kimberly Dean and Kate Hart will take part in the Carroll and Madison Public Library Foundation’s 13th Books in Bloom, noon-5 p.m. today in the gardens of the Crescent Hotel and Spa, 75 Prospect Ave., Eureka Springs.

UAMS concert

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra principal players Alisa Coffey, harp; Leanna Renfro, oboe; and Elizabeth Wheeler, English horn, will give a concert at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Walton Auditorium, 10th floor, Winthrop P. Rockefelle­r Cancer Institute, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, 4018 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock.

The program: Coffey will play the “Fugue” from Sonata No. 1 for solo violin by J.S. Bach, Traipsin’ Thru Arkansas by Carlos Salzedo and

Tango by Jean-Michel Damase. She and Wheeler will play Omaggio a Bellini by Antonio Pasculli. She and Renfro will play the Berceuse and

Pavane by Gabriel Faure. Wheeler and Renfro will play Regalo para Costa Rica by Mark Biggam and

Eggs and Toast by Phillip Bimstein (for oboe, English horn, “plus the kitchen ‘Sync’”). The entire ensemble will play the “Romance” from Una furtiva lagrima by Gaetano

Donizetti.

Seasons soloists

Violin students of Arkansas Symphony Orchestra co-concertmas­ter Andrew Irvin will solo in the four concertos that make up Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons (Spring: Harmony Skinner; Summer: Harry Lance; Autumn: Kenna Tuggle; and Winter: Caleb Yu), with members of the Arkansas Symphony, 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Presbyteri­an Church 4501 Rahling Road, Little Rock.

Bluegrass Monday

Virginia-based bluegrass band Nothin’ Fancy — Mike Andes, lead vocals and master of ceremonies; Mitchell Davis, banjo; Chris Sexton, fiddle; Tony Shorter, bass; and Caleb Cox, guitar and resophonic guitar — perform at 7 p.m. Monday at the Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., Paragould, for radio station KASU-FM, 91.9’s Bluegrass Monday concert series. The station will literally pass the hat to pay the group; suggested donation is $5. Doors open at 6. Cultural camp

May 30 is the deadline for children age 10-13 to register for the Delta Cultural Center’s Delta Days Day Camp, including games, activities and crafts from circa 1867, 9 a.m.-noon June 6-9 in the Delta Eagle Room, Delta Cultural Center Depot, 95 Missouri St., Helena-West Helena.

The Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center at the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le will open its 2017-18 season 8 p.m. Sept. 8 with the Singing Men of Arkansas performing Sing America!, a program that includes barbershop, spirituals and Broadway songs.
