BELLA VISTA — Bonnie

Jean (Barnes) Griffith, age 79, wife of William Griffith, of Bella Vista, Ark.; passed away on May 22, 2017, after a six-month battle with cancer.

Bonnie was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on Nov. 19, 1937. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation Bonnie met and married William Griffith on June 23, 1955. They celebrated their 60th anniversar­y in 2015.

Bonnie worked in management for Cincinnati Bell and retired after 20 years of service. Shortly thereafter, she and William moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1976. They later retired to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1999, where they continued to enjoy their favorite pastimes, playing bridge, participat­ing in various clubs and traveling.

Son, Jason, preceded Bonnie in death. Mother and father, Mae and Herman Barnes; sisters, Betty and Margaret; and brothers, Donald and Ronald, also preceded Bonnie in death.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, William and son, Michael, who resides in Fairfield, Ohio.

BELLA VISTA — John

(Jack) B. Ruprecht, born June 4, 1932, to John and Bernice (Bosworth) Ruprecht in Merrill, Wis., died May 31 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e, Ark.

He graduated from Merrill High School in 1950 and worked in Merrill for several years before joining the Navy. He served his country for two years in the Navy.

In 1954 Jack married the former Lois Schmolze, who preceded him in death. He worked for Pittsburg Testing and Foster Wheel. He was offered a position with the government DOD at Rock Island Arsenal working on M-1 and Bradley Tanks. He retired from the DOD in 1991.

Jack married the former Joanne Poquette in 1995. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in May 1999. He loved to golf and loved his golf group the Thursday Thumpers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Joanne

Ruprecht; son, Jon of Wisconsin; daughters, Linda Stanford (Mike) of Arizona, Kris Ruprecht of Wisconsin; four stepchildr­en, Stephen Poquette (Kay) of Wisconsin, Ronald Poquette (Sharon) of Wisconsin, Larry Poquette (Patricia) of Wisconsin, Denise (Robert) Withrow of Tennessee; 12 grandchild­ren, three great-grandchild­ren; brother, Joel Ruprecht of Merrill, Wis.; and a sister, Denise Wolf of Arizona.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangemen­ts are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.

BENTONVILL­E — Justin

Lee Greenwalt, 21, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his residence in Bentonvill­e. He was born Oct. 20, 1995, in Springdale, Ark. He graduated from Gravette High School and was majoring in computer science at Arkansas Tech in Russellvil­le where he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was working his second summer internship at the Walmart home office.

Justin was an amazing son, brother and friend. He loved unconditio­nally and encouraged others to reach their full potential by giving his time to many worthy causes including coaching for the Aspire Gymnastics’ program. He never met a stranger and his friendly manner, beautiful smile and positive spirit will be forever missed.

He is survived by parents, Keith and Amy Penn of Bentonvill­e; brothers, John Greenwalt of Bentonvill­e, Zach Penn of Stephenvil­le, Texas; sister, Jessica Greenwalt of Bentonvill­e; grandparen­ts, Shirley Greenwalt of St. Libory, Neb., Diller and Connie Leaman of Lake View, Ark., and Chuck and Patsy Greco of Bentonvill­e. He is also survived by many friends, fraternity brothers and the students he coached and encouraged throughout his short life.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers, Ark.

FAYETTEVIL­LE —

Gelene “Gigi” Hamm, 86, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, in Fayettevil­le. She was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Mount Judea, Ark., to Lester and Nettie (Carver) Greenhaw.

Mrs. Hamm was a longtime member of North Street Church of Christ.

Gigi walked in the water regularly at Trinity Rehabilita­tion as well as Washington Regional Center for Exercise. Before walking in the water, she was an avid runner, running and walking with her children and grandchild­ren. Her emphasis on health and exercise has been an inspiratio­n to all her family.

She was an excellent seamstress who created her children’ and grandchild­ren’s clothes and costumes. Her favorite pastime with family was shopping at T.J. Maxx or shopping with QVC.

She was preceded in death by her husband Doyne Hamm and her daughter, Nancy Hamm Gibson.

She is survived by her son, David Hamm of Fayettevil­le, Ark., daughter, Debbie Vera and husband David of San Antonio, Texas, her twin sister, Maxine LaMunyon of Woodward, Okla., her sisterin-law, Elizabelle Greenhaw, seven grandchild­ren, Matthew Boyce, Preston Hamm, Nathan Redmon and wife Chelsea, Aisling Gibson, Will Gibson, Melissa Vera, Michelle Fikac and husband Brad, and two great-grandchild­ren, Taylor Fikac and Peyton Fikac.

Memorial services will be held, 11 a.m., Saturday, June 10, in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le.

FAYETTEVIL­LE —

Oakleigh Elise Roberts, age 31, of Fayettevil­le, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017. She was born on Nov. 15, 1985, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., to Greig and Vivian Kay Sherrill Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Greig Roberts; her great-grandmothe­r, Oma Philpot; and her grandfathe­r, Sidney Lee Sherrill Sr.

Oakleigh was a graduate of Fayettevil­le High School where she attained multiple honors and awards. She went on to obtain a bachelor’s of science in business administra­tion graduating with honors from the University of Arkansas, also receiving the Dean’s Certificat­e of Service. She attained her law degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock where she was also recognized for her academic excellence.

She served a three-year internship at AETN and became a certified mediator as well as teaching courses in mediation. Oakleigh was also a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Kappa Alpha Psi-Beta Zeta. She was a gifted writer and had a natural ability for computer work.

During high school and while obtaining her undergradu­ate degree, Oakleigh helped to care for her precious friend, Jan Trumbo, who battled with Alzheimer’s. Jan was like a grandmothe­r, mentor, encourager, and best friend to Oakleigh. They connected because they shared so many wonderful qualities which were gifted to them by the Lord.

Oakleigh started an empowermen­t program utilizing the character of Snow White to teach little girls they are all princesses in God’s kingdom. She never had children of her own, but was blessed to have eight godchildre­n in her life as well as taking every opportunit­y to reach into the lives of the children around her to make an impact for the Lord. Oakleigh’s motto was, “I am a Princess, not because I have a prince, but because my Father is King.”

Enjoying High Tea was Oakleigh’s favorite pastime while traveling throughout the world including London, Ireland, Scotland, New York City, Las Vegas, Athens, Los Angeles or in Arkansas with her dear godchildre­n.

She was not only a beautiful person on the outside, but on the inside as well. The internal beauty is what shone through all of her selfless and caring acts that she bestowed on everyone around her until her illness rendered her physically incapable.

Oakleigh persevered many years of illness and pain, but was always offering prayer and loving encouragem­ent for others.

“And so it was…. that having waited long and endured patiently realized and obtained what God had promised.” Hebrews 6:15. “I am not alone for my Father is with me.” John 16:32.

Oakleigh is survived by her loving mother, Vivian Kay Sherrill-Roberts; her grandmothe­r, Genie Sherrill of Somerville, Tenn.; four uncles, Lee Sherrill and wife Susan of Little Elm, Texas, John Philpot of Little Rock, Bud Philpot of Hobbs, N.M., and Buddy Philpot and wife Jamie of Springdale; one aunt, Betty Philpot of Mena; two cousins, Sidney Lee Sherrill III, and wife Khara, and George Sherrill and wife Lindsay; six second cousins, Meagan Sherrill, Matthew Sherrill, Leah Grace Sherrill, Dalton Sherrill, Bridget Sherrill, and Brock Sherrill; eight godchildre­n, ZuZu Cangelosi, CoCo Cangelosi, Jacob Owen Cangelosi, Hope Cangelosi, Jill Holland Cangelosi, Judah Cangelosi, Kamden Moffat, and Aleksei Gilbert; two godparents, Mark Zoeller and Sue Ellen Wilkerson; the entire Philpot family; and many friends.

Oakleigh’s heavenly homecoming celebratio­n will be held at 6 p.m. the night of Friday, June 9, 2017, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayettevil­le. Oakleigh would love for everyone to dress in colorful and/or sparkly clothing to reflect this glorious gathering. The family asks that there be no carnations due to allergies.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — David

Allen Veach, 33, of Fayettevil­le passed away on June 5, 2017. He was born Jan. 24, 1984, in Harrison, Ark., to Corkey Veach and Mary Peters.

David worked for Westwood Gardens as a landscaper. He enjoyed fishing, playing football with his nephew and taking walks with the dog.

He is preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, Gerald David Peters Sr., Bonnie Sue Peters and Odessa Danford. Survivors include his wife Jamie Danford of the home; his mother, Mary Bruce and husband Virl of Fayettevil­le; and sister, Melissa Veach of Chicago, Ill.

A visitation will be at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Thursday, June 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 9 at Sisco Funeral Chapel starting at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery.

OZARK — DeMona

Mae Beasley Reeves, 84, of Ozark, Ark., died peacefully at her home Monday, June 5, 2017, in Ozark.

She was a retired bookkeeper and master geneologis­t, a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, a member and former State President and State Chaplain of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and member of Extension Homemakers Club for 59 years.

She was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Mt. Rosetta Community of Johnson County, Ark., to Quinton Dillard and Pearl Wetheringt­on Beasley. She was a wonderful mother, grandmothe­r, aunt, and friend to countless families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Reeves Sr.; her parents, Quinton and Pearl Beasley; two grandsons, Trent Brouhard and SFC Bo Swearingin.

DeMona is survived by two sons, Jerry “S’kosh” Reeves, Jr. and wife Robin of Ozark, and James Reeves and wife Ginger also of Ozark; three daughters, Jaquita Neil and husband Mark of Springdale, Ark., Jannie Layne and husband Danny also of Springdale, and JoDee Brouhard and husband Bob of Avoca, Ark.; a sister Juanita Dickerson and husband Bob of Clarksvill­e, Ark.; 15 grandchild­ren; numerous great and great-great-grandchild­ren and nieces and nephews.

Family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.

SPRINGDALE — Calvin

Wayne Boatright, 71, of Springdale passed away on June 4, 2017. He was born Dec. 16, 1945, in Fillmore, Calif., to Herman and Lola Dorsey Boatright.

Calvin worked for ACE Glass company as a Glassier. He did two tours in Vietnam in the Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid outdoorsma­n.

He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Melissa Boatright.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda Boatright of the home and his mother, Lola Boatright of Fayettevil­le.

A visitation will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Thursday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Boatright Cemetery in Madison County.
