On women in combat

-

I once again grimace at the turnaround of your editorial page. What was once a page which was populated by writers who were seasoned by the world, it seems we now have a new tribe who wish to see it framed as what they wish it to be.

I read with askance the “Welcome to the jungle” contribution which could no more typify this flight from reality. It called to mind the warning from Heinlein, “All societies are based on rules to protect pregnant women and young children. All else is surplusage, excrescence, adornment, luxury, or folly, which can—and must—be dumped in emergency to preserve this prime function. As racial survival is the only universal morality, no other basic is possible. Attempts to formulate a ‘perfect society’ on any foundation other than ‘Women and children first!’ is not only witless, it is automatically genocidal. Nevertheless, starry-eyed idealists (all of them male) have tried endlessly—and no doubt will keep on trying.” Our current military leaders are earnestly trying to follow orders by obeying this genocidal policy.

Further, I have yet to read of any of our current male troops being captured and raped—which the newly integrated policy seems to invite.

We were assured that the new military policy of gender neutrality would have no effect on the effectiveness of our troops while we witness the repeated instances of complaints and problems of discipline in implementing this specious, politically correct policy. We do so at our peril. WAYNE G. ELLIOTT El Dorado
