CHESTER — Elmer

Junior Howell, 81, of Chester, Ark., passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in his home. He was a retired farmer. He was born May 14, 1936, to the late Elmer Gordon and Georgie (Reed) Howell.

Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Survivors include three sons, Terry G. Howell and Jerry Howell both of Chester, Ark., and James Howell of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one brother, Everett Howell of Jay, Okla., and several grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. Gearaldine Cash, age 83, of Harrison, died June 7, 2017. LINCOLN — Mabel Elizabeth Reisser Moore,

91, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born April 7, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Volkert Albers Reisser.

Mabel worked for Campbell Soup as a night secretary for many years. Each day she came home from her job and worked on the farm with her husband and three sons. She was a leader of Running Springs 4-H Club for many years.

She enjoyed crafts with Moonlighte­rs EHC, of which she was a charter member, as well as with her friends, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren. Mabel was an avid crocheter, and made countless items for family, friends, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the VA Hospital, and county fair exhibits.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Glenn R. Moore; her parents; her brother, Ervin Reisser; and three sisters: Lillian Dick, Irene Cook, and Velma Deklotz.

She is survived by her three sons: Edward “Bud” Moore and wife Susan of Prairie Grove, Russell Moore and wife Debbie, and Ralph Moore and wife Reba all of Lincoln; six grandchild­ren: Allen Moore and wife Cindy, Denise Sweat and husband Chris, Christina Beare and husband Shawn, Ryan Moore and wife Nicole, Martin Moore, Curtis Moore; nine great-grandchild­ren: Cameron Harrison, Kipton Moore, Hudson Moore, Sara Sweat, Anna Sweat, Jaxon Beare, Averee Beare, Addison Beare, and Cole McClellan.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, June 11 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 12 at the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

Pallbearer­s will be Allen Moore, Ryan Moore, Martin Moore, Curtis Moore, Chris Sweat, and Shawn Beare.

LITTLE ROCK —

Clifford Thomas Dunn

(Tom), age 63, passed away June 6, 2017, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born in Palestine, Texas, and lived the majority of his life in Little Rock, El Dorado and Fayettevil­le. He is the son of Clifford Thomas Dunn, Sr. (deceased) and Betty Jo (BJ) Allen of Little Rock.

He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in accounting, and spent most of his career in finance. He retired from finance and pursued his dream of owning and operating Shorty’s Deli and Meat Market in Farmington, Ark.

He was an avid cook and award-winning grillmaste­r. He spent many weekends participat­ing in cooking competitio­ns. He and his team were the Grand Champions at the Magnolia Blossom Festival World Championsh­ip Steak Cook-Off in 2011. He was of the Baptist faith.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ollie Dunn, his mother, Betty Jo, daughters, Angela Dunn Glover and Jenny Dunn O’Bryan of Fayettevil­le, stepchildr­en, Chuck Bennett and Lindsey Bennett of El Dorado, five grandchild­ren — Owen, Sam, Mason, Aiden, and Zachary — with whom he had a very special relationsh­ip, and siblings, Donna Kay Verser of Kentucky and Jim Dunn of South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark. Interment will immediatel­y follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

PRAIRIE GROVE — Jesse

William Giles, age 98, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away June 6, 2017, in Fayettevil­le. He was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Prairie Grove, Ark., the son of Jess and Ruby Ann (Fleming) Giles.

William served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a fireman in California after the service. After moving back to Arkansas he raised chickens and cattle on their farm. He was a charter member of the Prairie Grove Lions Club. He attended both the First United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove and the Viney Grove Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lora Dean Giles and his parents. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Carolyn Giles of Magnolia, Ark., and Donald and Emilie Giles of Leavenwort­h, Kan.; two granddaugh­ters, Sara Smartt and her husband Jeremy of San Diego, Calif., and Lilly Giles of Magnolia, Ark.; one great-grandson, William Thomas Smartt; his loving and faithful friend Maxine Caudle.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Viney Grove Methodist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside services.

Pallbearer­s will be: Sam Tyree, Charles Hall, Wayne Hall, Terry Howerton, Buford Hand, Eugene Hamilton, Clifton Clark and Larry Bell.

SPRINGDALE —

Doris Ruth McDonner, 83, of Springdale, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at her home. She was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Winslow to Walter Clay and Kizzie Pense Henson. Doris loved the Lord and attending Upper Smyrna Pentecosta­l Church. She enjoyed being with children and was a very strong woman.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Gayle Henson, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by six children, Vicki Doss of Fayettevil­le, William Henson and wife Sharon of Farmington, James McDonner of Alexandria, Va., Wally McDonner and wife Brenda of Farmington, Ronnie McDonner of Goodman, Mo., Teddy McDonner of Springdale; two brothers, Hoyt Henson of Winslow, Walace “Pee Wee” Henson of Fayettevil­le; one sister, Carol Chapel of Fayettevil­le; 12 grandchild­ren, 16 great-grandchild­ren and eight great-great-grandchild­ren.

KANSAS, Okla. — Gene

Edward Thompson Sr. was orn Feb. 17, 1935, and passed away June 7 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and is survived by his children, a daughter and two sons, six grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren. Arrangemen­ts are with Benton County Memorial Park of Rogers. SAPULPA, Okla. — Jimmy Thomas Myers was born Dec. 29, 1960, to Velda and Earl Myers in Rogers, Ark. He departed this life June 6, 2017, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 8 days.

He spent his youth in Rogers, Ark. He was currently residing in Sapulpa, Okla., for the last 15 years, moving there from Bristow. He was a faithful member of Assurance Church in Mounds, Okla. He loved the lord and loved his church.

Jimmy was well known in Sapulpa as he walked around town making regular stops visiting with friends. He had previously worked at Freddie’s steakhouse until his health wouldn’t allow him to work anymore. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and making people laugh.

He is survived by his sister, Nedra Jones and husband Samuel of Bristow; fiance, Paula Watson of Mounds; half-sister, Deborah Bronson of Hawaii; half-brother, Paul Warmer of Hawaii; niece, Crystal Parker; two nephews, Jonathan Nollner and wife April and Jeffrey Jones; great nieces and nephews, Noah, Madison, Kloe, Colby, Briley and Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Assurance Church in Mounds, Okla., with Pastor Jarrod Vanderslic­e officiatin­g.
