Paving work causes interstate lane closings
LOWELL — Construction work on Interstate 49 in Rogers, Lowell and Springdale will require overnight lane closings through August.
Crews will continue to pave on north and south I-49, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. The inside and outside lanes will alternately be closed from Wagon Wheel Road, Exit 76, to New Hope Road, Exit 83.
The closings will continue through the end of August, weather permitting. Closings will not occur July 3-5. ■ North I-49 lane closings will occur between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
■ South I-49 lane closings will occur between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The project is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Arkansas 264 in Lowell to New Hope Road in Rogers.
