Survivors get together
The Susan G. Komen Ozark Affiliate will be hosting the second breast cancer Survivorship Series from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 Sunset Ave., in Springdale. There is no cost and it is open to the public.
This workshop will feature presentations on body image and intimacy following breast cancer. Scheduled to speak is Dr. Lindsey Seale from The Parkhill Clinic for Women. Seale will discuss medical options for intimacy issues following chemotherapy induced menopause symptoms. Also presenting is Miki Biggers, director of social work services at Hope Cancer Resources. Biggers will provide information on coping with emotional and relationship issues related to sexuality and intimacy post breast cancer treatment. Rounding out the morning will be Shannon Jones, APRN with Highlands Oncology Group, who will speak on communication, body image and intimacy.
