BEAVER LAKE Catfish are biting a variety of baits fished on trotlines, limb lines, jug lines or rod and reel.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said sunfish are the best live bait. Catfish are also biting stink bait, nightcrawlers and liver.

Black bass are moving into deeper water, Whittle said. Fish on the outside of bushes eight to 10 feet deep. Try spinner baits, crank baits or plastic worms. Top-water lures may work at sunrise and sunset.

Walleye are biting nightcrawler rigs, deep-diving crank baits and deep-diving jerk baits.

The best area for striped bass is from Rocky Branch park to the dam. Use top-water lures early or brood minnows later in the day.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said minnows are better for crappie than jigs. Catfish are biting well on sunfish. Try crank baits in shallow water for black bass.

BEAVER TAILWATER Carl Caso at Beaver Dam Store said high water is still the norm. Fishing from a boat is best. Try Power Bait in bright colors for trout. The top trout lure is a silver or gold countdown Rapala.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE Maria Rainey at the lake office said bluegill and catfish are biting crickets or worms.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said black bass are biting spinner baits and plastic worms. Crappie fishing is good with minnows or jigs four feet deep.

Bluegill are biting crickets or worms close to shore. Try liver or shad for catfish.

SWEPCO LAKE Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting a variety of soft plastic lures two to 20 feet deep. Try top-water at sunrise and sunset.

SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE Stroud suggests using squarebill crank baits for black bass.

ILLINOIS RIVER Stroud recommends using tube baits, grubs or Rooster Tails for black bass.

BELLA VISTA

Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting top-water lures at sunrise. Use plastic worms or jig and pigs later in the day.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Lake Eucha on jigs or minnows. Catfishing is fair with sunfish, shad or worms. Largemouth bass fishing is slow.

At Lake Tenkiller, largemouth bass fishing is fair with crank baits and plastic worms. Catfishing is fair with stink bait or worms.

TABLE ROCK LAKE Missouri Department of Conservation reports good fishing for catfish with cut bait or worms. Black bass are biting fair on deep-diving crank baits or jig and pigs. Walleye are biting fair at sunset on deep-diving crank baits.
