BELLA VISTA — Mrs. Sharon D. Igou, age 80, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away, Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Sharon was born to Dorcie Bearbower and Martha Fowlkes Bearbower on July 21, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and educator. Sharon proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and then continued to serve people with her charitable nature. Mrs. Igou had a lifelong passion for reading and loved to share her wealth of knowledge with others. She earned a master’s degree in education and later became a school administra­tor, retiring in 1994.

Mrs. Igou was preceded in death by her parents, Dorcie and Martha Bearbower, and the love of her life, Frank Igou. She is survived by her son, Brad Igou and wife Christi of Bella Vista, Ark.; one sister, Stacy Lancaster of Hampton, Ark.; one brother, D. Wayne Bearbower and wife Janice of Anderson, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved niece, Dawn Malley and husband Bob of Bentonvill­e, Ark.

Sharon’s Memorial Service will be held at Mildred B. Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista from 1 to 3 p. m. on Friday June 30, with refreshmen­ts and visiting time at Brad and Christi’s home.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Richard Clarence Dohrn, 86, died June 24 at the VA Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. He served honorably with the 32nd Infantry in Korea.

He was predecease­d by sons, Dirk and Richard Dohrn; and daughter, Kelly Johnston. He is survived by his wife Dixie Jean Dohrn; daughter, Karen Riser; son, Jayme Dohrn; stepsons, George (Linda) and Joseph Witten; stepdaught­er, Lisa Davis (Doyle); grandchild­ren, Rachel and Regan Riser, John and Sarah Spradlin, and Aimee (Brett) Clevenger; and by greats, Madeleine and Maxwell Clevenger.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — William Donald McKenzie, age 69, of Fayettevil­le passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Fayettevil­le. Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29 at the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

LITTLE ROCK — Loretta Munn Halbert, 79, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Hospice Home Care. She was born Saturday, June 4, 1938, in Prescott, Ark., to Ceral P. Munn and Emma Munn who both predecease­d her.

She wa s also predecease­d by Max Louis Halbert, her husband of 56 years. She is survived by her three sons: Lance and wife, Karen Halbert of Little Rock, Ark., Scott and wife, Angie Halbert of Allen, Texas, and Jon and wife, Debbie Halbert of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; six grandchild­ren, Brian, Kim, Jared, Audra, Jessica, and Mandy Halbert; two step-grandchild­ren, one great-grandson, and four step-great-grandchild­ren.

Loretta was a long time member of Little Rock’s First Baptist Church where she previously served as the receptioni­st/secretary in the church office. She also worked for FamilyLife Ministries.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark., 501-224- 8300. Funeral will be held Thursday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at Little Rock’s First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

ROGERS — Johnye Shelton Campbell died Saturday, June 24, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e, Ark . , f rom injuries suffered in a car accident on Wednesday, June 14. Her first words to everybody in the hospital were: “It wasn’t my fault,” and she was right.

Johnye Campbell was born, in Driggs, Ark., between Paris and Magazine, on Jan. 31, 1929, to parents Justin and Helen Shelton, the middle of nine children. Along with her cousins, she attended elementary school in Driggs, and she went to Paris for her upper grades, graduating from Paris High School.

She married Jerry Campbell, also from Paris, in 1948, and during their marriage they moved frequently, living in several cities in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Illinois and Ohio.

From the mid-1950s on, these moves were to advance Jerry’s career with General Motors. During this time, Johnye maintained continuity and stability at home, raising their two daughters, Cindy and Leigh. While keeping a spotless house, in each new city Johnye had to find a new grocery store, dentist, doctor, and more important, a new school and church.

Jerry retired in 1976, and they moved to Rogers, Ark. They joined Bella Vista Baptist Church where Johnye loved serving children in the nursery, and over the years, she was always delighted whenever she met them again as adults. She also volunteere­d for many gratifying years at St. Mary’s Hospital before it became Mercy’s.

Johnye’s husband Jerry died in 2012. She is survived by daughters, Cindy Campbell Earnest of Bloomingto­n, Minn., and Cindy’s sons Andrew and Matthew, along with Matthew’s wife Maegan and their daughters, Isla and Norah; and Leigh Campbell Hale and her husband Pete Hale of Lafayette, Colo., and their sons, James, John, and Benjamin and Ben’s wife Caitlin Millard. Johnye is also survived by her brothers in California, Kermit and Don Shelton and Don’s wife Donna, and her sisters in Arkansas, Martha Kelley and her husband Charlie, and Fern Callan and her husband Tommy, and many nephews and nieces.

Since 2012, Johnye lived in assisted living at Innisfree in Rogers, and especially faithful in their visits to her during this time have been her beloved sister- in- law, Patricia Campbell Wright of Bella Vista, and her niece Suzy Tusing of Springdale.

Johnye Shelton Campbell will be memorializ­ed at a private service at Innisfree for her friends and caring staff there. She will be inurned beside her husband at Benton County Memorial Park.

ROGERS — Jennifer Ann Hopgood, 42, passed away on June 25, 2017, in Bentonvill­e. She was born on Dec. 18, 1974, in Bentonvill­e to Douglas L. Jackson and the late Carolyn Sue (Callis) Jackson.

She wa s the wife of Larry Hopgood. Jennifer enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, gardening, crocheting and genealogy research.

She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Kim Jackson. She is survived by her husband of Rogers; father, Doug of Oklahoma; motherin-law, Deborah Russell of Missouri; half-brother, Michael of Gravette; half-sister, Michelle Suter of Georgia; brothers-in-law, Jason Hopgood and Shannon Matlock both of Missouri; sister-inlaw, Kristy Benton of Missouri.

Her visitation will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 11-1 p.m. in Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonvill­e, with a funeral to follow at 1pm. Burial will be at a later date. WINSLOW — James Hugh Walker, age 78, of Winslow, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born on June 6, 1939, in Crosses, Ark., to Eber and Nora Shackelfor­d Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Tommy, Billy, Jerry, and Junior Walker.

James was a loving husband and father who could always be found lending a helping hand to everyone he met. He was a mechanic, as well as a chicken and cattle farmer by trade. He was the owner of The Walker Garage for several years. He was a volunteer firefighte­r for the Elkins fire department for years and was the chief of the Sunset fire department.

James is survived by his loving wife, Carol Walker of the home; his two sons, Preston Walker and wife Janet of Elkins, and Vincent Walker of the home; one brother, Jack Walker; four sisters, Alice Hershberge­r, Dolores Gorley, Doris Rieff and husband Raymond, and Dorothy Brown; two grandchild­ren, Ashleigh Hutsell and husband Dane, and Daniel Walker; two great-grandchild­ren, Raelynn and Sadie Hutsell; and many good friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home in Fayettevil­le. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Brannon Mountain Church, Madison County, Ark. Interment to follow at Brannon Mountain Cemetery.

WOODLAND, Calif. — Anna Bell Stanberry passed away Friday, April 14, at the age of 85. She was born July 2, 1931, around Fayettevil­le, Ark., to Melvin Laverne Chandler and Hazel Chandler.

She married Troy Melvin Stanberry on Dec. 1, 1951, in Fayettevil­le Ark. They relocated to Woodland California a few weeks later where they stayed for the remainder of their lives.

A few years after, her only child Melvin Dean Stanberry was born. Anna is survived by her son Melvin Dean Stanberry, daughter-in-law, June Olette Stanberry; older brother, Darrell Lee Chandler, and youngest sister, Delia LaVerne Cooper. She had no grandchild­ren, but many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by friends, Rick Casias, Betty Williams and Bonnie White, whom she was blessed to consider family. Interment was April 25, 2017, Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Calif.

EUGENE, Ore .— Franklin Andrew Nichols,

“Bud,” was born Jan. 4, 1940, and died June 6, 2017. Bud was born in LaRue, Ark., to Jerry and Eula Mae Nichols.

He graduated from Rogers High in 1957 and entered the National Guard at age 17. After basic training he moved his mother and sister to Oregon.

Bud met Michelyn on a blind date and they were together for 56 years. They retired early and traveled the world. His bucket list was complete. Bud was a Eugene Firefighte­r for 25 years.

He was a true Southern gentleman. Much loved by his wife Michelyn, daughters, Trisha Eaker (Brian), Leanne Mannon (Mike), and grandchild­ren Kaiden, Avery, Nick and Maya. He is survived by sisters, Emma Lou and Doris Ann, and four nephews and one niece.
