Rising above the hate

Harrison was a happier, more loving and more colorful place last weekend. Beautiful weather and beautiful, smiling faces made Minnie Harris Park and the town square even more glorious. People from all around the region came together to embrace everyone’s right to the pursuit of happiness. Souls of all ages enjoyed music, games and true camaraderie.

If you weren’t able to make it to the second annual Harrison Diversity Weekend (makes me a bit amazed even to type the words), be sure to make it next year. I’ve never put a lot of stock in pride, but I feel proud of everyone there, and all of you who support the basic human rights of all. “Peace and love, Rise above.” MARK EASTBURN
