‘Amazing Grace’
Harriett Sisson of Fayetteville plays “Amazing Grace” on bagpipes Monday during a wreath-laying ceremony in recognition of the 150th anniversary of Fayetteville National Cemetery. The Department of Veterans Affairs Fayetteville National Cemetery hosted the event. The Regional National Cemetery Improvement Corp. announced the donation of 2.2 acres to the cemetery. In 1989, the RNCIC, a group of citizens, veterans and officials of the city of Fayetteville and the state of Arkansas, formed to raise funds to purchase land for the expansion of the cemetery.
