He told us how to live

Is God a conservative? Christ gave us the guidelines for Christian living. He taught us to love God, love one another, do good to those who harm us, treat others as we want to be treated. Take care of the widow and the sick, feed the poor. Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

This doesn’t sound like the Republican agenda. How does the South— that solid block of red states known as the Bible Belt—equate Christian belief with the Republican agenda? Jesus told the rich young man that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for him to enter the kingdom of God.
