Lowell man arrested in connection with rape, kidnapping

SILOAM SPRINGS — Dustin Torres, 24, of 15150 Harris Road in Lowell was arrested Monday in connection with rape, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

A woman told a Siloam Springs Police Department officer and a detective that Torres had barged into her home, kidnapped her in her car, strangled and cut her and raped her, according to the affidavit.

Benton County Sheriff’s deputies found Torres at his father’s house in Lowell. Torres refused to let police take swabs of his DNA and said he had had consensual sex with the woman and that she never said no, according to the affidavit.

He did tell police that he strangled her, that he knew she was scared and that he did grab her and pull her back into the vehicle when she tried to leave, according to the affidavit.

Torres was being held Tuesday at the Benton County Jail on $100,000 bond.
