Seven straight years of surpluses

-

Arkansas’ fiscal 2017 ended June 30 with a net general revenue surplus — the seventh year in a row. In the past 20 years, the state general revenue budget saw only six instances in which the fiscal year ended without a surplus. Gross general revenue was $100 million more in fiscal 2017 than what was collected the previous year. Gross general revenue grew over the previous year in all but four of the past 20 fiscal years.
