Black Lil­lies play Stickyz; Bret Michaels in Hot Springs

The Black Lil­lies will per­form at 8 p.m. to­day at Stickyz Rock ’n’ Roll Chicken Shack. Ad­mis­sion is $10.

The Black Lil­lies were founded in 2009 by Cruz Con­tr­eras, who for­merly led the band Robinella and the CCString­band (which per­formed at Stickyz a decade ago). Con­tr­eras started his new band af­ter he and Robinella, the pre­vi­ous band’s lead singer, di­vorced.

His lat­est group has re­leased four al­bums — Whiskey An­gel in May 2009, 100 Miles of Wreck­age in Fe­bru­ary 2011, Run­away Free­way Blues in March 2013 and Hard to Please in Oc­to­ber 2015.

Michaels first be­came no­to­ri­ous as the lead singer of Poi­son, a band from Me­chan­ics­burg, Pa., prom­i­nent for a decade start­ing in the mid-1980s. In 2012, the VH1 ca­ble net­work ranked it No. 1 on their list of the “Top Five Hair Bands of the ’80s.”

Michaels, 54, has built a sub­se­quent ca­reer as a re­al­ity TV per­former and ac­tor in movie and TV shows.
