LITTLE ROCK — Gillis B. Ward, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 6, 2017. She is survived by her loving daughter, Alyson, and siblings, Carol, Jane, Buz, and Bob. Gillis was a recognized educator and volunteer in the Little Rock community and will be sorely missed.

SPRINGTOWN — O.D. Rotramel, 72-year-old resident of Springtown, Arkansas, was called home by our Lord on July 6th, 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas. Born September 13th, 1944, he was the son of Leonard Rotramel and Irene Davidson Rotramel. O.D. married Betty Clawson on June 4th, 1962 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He worked for over 20 years as a self-employed brick layer. Later, he went to work for McKee foods in Gentry, Arkansas where he retired in 2012.

A quiet and gentle man, he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter and NRA supporter. He could most often be found sitting in his shop with a view out the garage door — his window to the world. He loved spending time with family hunting and camping. He was always looking out for his grandkids. He loved his family!

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Betty Rotramel; one son, Eddy Rotramel and wife Jennifer of Gentry; one daughter, Georgia Spence and husband Steve of Colcord, Oklahoma; four grandchild­ren, Anthony Rotramel and wife Emily and their son Logan of Fayettevil­le; Kristy Chase and husband Shawn of Gentry; Andrew Rotramel and wife Jessica of Gentry; and Samantha Spence of Kansas, Oklahoma; one brother, Larry Rotramel and wife Charlotte of Siloam Springs; one sister, Lois Farmer and husband Kenny of Siloam Springs; one niece, Sheri McGuire and husband Steve and their son Jesse of Siloam Springs; two nephews, Brian Rotramel and wife Vanessa of Gentry; Mark Rotramel and wife Carey and their sons William and Chandler; and many close friends.

The family would like to thank the Mercy health system and their nursing staff for their excellent care.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Monday July 10th, 2017 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs with son, Eddy Rotramel officiatin­g. SPRINGDALE — Fern Brown, age 93, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 in Springdale.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Graveside service will follow at Glenco Cemetery, Pindall at 11 a.m.

SKIATOOK, Okla. — Dewey Warren Combs was born July 19, 1936, in Wesley, Arkansas, to Tommie and Edith Velma Glenn Combs. He died Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years. Dewey was reared and educated in Springdale, Arkansas, and graduated with the Springdale High School Class of 1953. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Air Force. He was married July 18, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Dorthia Mae Parham. Dewey spent most of his working life as a computer hardware installati­on manager with SABRE, a subsidiary of American Airlines. He was a faithful member of Discovery Bible Fellowship in Collinsvil­le, Oklahoma. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including hunting, fishing, gardening, or anything that involved being outdoors. He also enjoyed ranching and working cattle on the farm.

Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: two daughters; Larissa Wood, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, and Sharon Bard and husband Fairen, of Oilton, Oklahoma; six grandchild­ren; Logan Wood, Rachel Wood, Savanna Wood, Gideon Wood, Mendy Applegate, and Wendy Schroedter; one great-granddaugh­ter; Cameron Bailey Schroedter; his caregiver, Christi Couch. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorthia, grandson, Russell Brian Applegate, granddaugh­ter, Misty Louise Applegate, and son Bob Applegate.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at Discovery Bible Fellowship with Pastor Mike Frantz officiatin­g.
