LIT­TLE ROCK — Gillis B. Ward, 68, passed away peace­fully sur­rounded by her fam­ily on July 6, 2017. She is sur­vived by her lov­ing daugh­ter, Alyson, and sib­lings, Carol, Jane, Buz, and Bob. Gillis was a rec­og­nized ed­u­ca­tor and vol­un­teer in the Lit­tle Rock com­mu­nity and will be sorely missed.

SPRINGTOWN — O.D. Ro­tramel, 72-year-old res­i­dent of Springtown, Arkansas, was called home by our Lord on July 6th, 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas. Born Septem­ber 13th, 1944, he was the son of Leonard Ro­tramel and Irene David­son Ro­tramel. O.D. mar­ried Betty Claw­son on June 4th, 1962 in Tahle­quah, Ok­la­homa. He worked for over 20 years as a self-em­ployed brick layer. Later, he went to work for McKee foods in Gen­try, Arkansas where he re­tired in 2012.

A quiet and gen­tle man, he loved be­ing out­doors. He en­joyed fish­ing and was an avid hunter and NRA sup­porter. He could most often be found sit­ting in his shop with a view out the garage door — his win­dow to the world. He loved spend­ing time with fam­ily hunt­ing and camp­ing. He was al­ways look­ing out for his grand­kids. He loved his fam­ily!

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents. He is sur­vived by his wife, Betty Ro­tramel; one son, Eddy Ro­tramel and wife Jen­nifer of Gen­try; one daugh­ter, Ge­or­gia Spence and hus­band Steve of Col­cord, Ok­la­homa; four grand­chil­dren, An­thony Ro­tramel and wife Emily and their son Lo­gan of Fayet­teville; Kristy Chase and hus­band Shawn of Gen­try; An­drew Ro­tramel and wife Jes­sica of Gen­try; and Sa­man­tha Spence of Kan­sas, Ok­la­homa; one brother, Larry Ro­tramel and wife Char­lotte of Siloam Springs; one sis­ter, Lois Farmer and hus­band Kenny of Siloam Springs; one niece, Sheri McGuire and hus­band Steve and their son Jesse of Siloam Springs; two neph­ews, Brian Ro­tramel and wife Vanessa of Gen­try; Mark Ro­tramel and wife Carey and their sons Wil­liam and Chan­dler; and many close friends.

The fam­ily would like to thank the Mercy health sys­tem and their nurs­ing staff for their ex­cel­lent care.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be 3 p.m., Mon­day July 10th, 2017 at Was­son Fu­neral Home, Siloam Springs with son, Eddy Ro­tramel of­fi­ci­at­ing. SPRING­DALE — Fern Brown, age 93, of Spring­dale, Arkansas, formerly of Har­ri­son, Arkansas passed away Fri­day, July 7, 2017 in Spring­dale.

A vis­i­ta­tion will be held Wed­nes­day, July 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Coff­man Fu­neral Home Chapel in Har­ri­son. Grave­side ser­vice will fol­low at Glenco Ceme­tery, Pin­dall at 11 a.m.

SKIATOOK, Okla. — Dewey War­ren Combs was born July 19, 1936, in Wes­ley, Arkansas, to Tom­mie and Edith Velma Glenn Combs. He died Wed­nes­day, July 5, 2017, in Skiatook, Ok­la­homa, at the age of 80 years. Dewey was reared and ed­u­cated in Spring­dale, Arkansas, and grad­u­ated with the Spring­dale High School Class of 1953. He was a vet­eran of the armed forces hav­ing served his coun­try hon­or­ably with the United States Air Force. He was mar­ried July 18, 1962, in Tulsa, Ok­la­homa, to Dor­thia Mae Parham. Dewey spent most of his work­ing life as a com­puter hard­ware in­stal­la­tion man­ager with SABRE, a sub­sidiary of Amer­i­can Air­lines. He was a faith­ful mem­ber of Dis­cov­ery Bible Fel­low­ship in Collinsville, Ok­la­homa. He en­joyed a va­ri­ety of pas­times in­clud­ing hunt­ing, fish­ing, gar­den­ing, or any­thing that in­volved be­ing out­doors. He also en­joyed ranch­ing and work­ing cat­tle on the farm.

Those he leaves be­hind who hold many cher­ished me­mories in­clude: two daugh­ters; Larissa Wood, of Fort Gib­son, Ok­la­homa, and Sharon Bard and hus­band Fairen, of Oil­ton, Ok­la­homa; six grand­chil­dren; Lo­gan Wood, Rachel Wood, Savanna Wood, Gideon Wood, Mendy Ap­ple­gate, and Wendy Schroedter; one great-grand­daugh­ter; Cameron Bai­ley Schroedter; his care­giver, Christi Couch. He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, his wife, Dor­thia, grand­son, Rus­sell Brian Ap­ple­gate, grand­daugh­ter, Misty Louise Ap­ple­gate, and son Bob Ap­ple­gate.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sun­day, July 9, 2017, at Mow­ery Fu­neral Ser­vice in Owasso. Fu­neral ser­vice will be held 11 a.m. Mon­day, July 10, 2017, at Dis­cov­ery Bible Fel­low­ship with Pas­tor Mike Frantz of­fi­ci­at­ing.
