AURORA — Judy K. Byrd, 66, of Aurora, Ark., died July 4, 2017 at her home. She had retired from Harp’s Food Store in Huntsville and a member of the Aurora Pentecostal Church.

Survivors: Her husband of 46 years, Mike Byrd of the home.

BENTONVILLE — Alma Hatfield left this world on Wednesday, July 5 surrounded by family.

Born Alma Frances Alexander on Dec. 16, 1918, to Etta Womack and Charles Stewart Alexander in Southwest City, Mo., Mrs. Hatfield would have been 99 years old in December.

While attending business college in Springfield Missouri, Alma met and married the love of her life, Logan Hatfield, on Sept. 9, 1939. After graduating college, Alma worked for the department of the United States Navy while Logan served as a World War Two policemen in the Panama Canal Zone. While there, they had one son, Charles Stewart. Mrs. Hatfield was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. Hatfield and her husband had several grocery stores over the years. In 1961, they purchased an E-Z Mart in her hometown of Southwest City, Mo. Along with operating the store for over 20 years, Mrs. Hatfield was also a successful farmer. She raised cattle and pigs, built and maintained fences, and did her own butchering. Her hard work and determination was a great example for all who knew her. She had a gentle nature and a fiery spirit.

In recent years, Mrs. Hatfield lived in Bentonville, Ark., to be near her son. She enjoyed making quilts and household items and was active at the local senior center. She had a grand sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards or dominoes and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by her parents, Eta and Charles Alexander and her loving husband of 55 years, Logan Hatfield. She is survived by one devoted son and daughter-in-law, Charles Stewart and Kelly Hatfield; her grandchildren, Chad Hatfield and wife, Monica, Whitney Kindell and husband, Dustin, Christa Means and husband, Brian; four great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Francis Nell Faulkner died June 29, 2017. Born Feb. 13, 1930 in Marshall, Texas, to Homer and Bessie (Goodlett) Faulkner, Nell lived in Malvern, Eureka Springs, and Berryville.

FARMINGTON — Raymond Joseph Netto,

Famington, died June 30th, 2017. He was born April 4th, 1924 in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Joseph and Mary Netto.

Raymond attended Elementary and high school at Holy Cross in Santa Cruz. After graduation he volunteered immediately for the United States Navy and was accepted in the service of our country. He retired after twenty years, married and moved to Springdale, Ark. There, he was employed by Welch’s grape juice company for a number of years; he then went to work for the Campbell Soup company and retired after twenty years at the age of 62.

He was a member of the Pleasant Street Church of Christ in Springdale and also attended Hyland Park Assembly of God with his wife, Katherine Netto, every other Sunday. He was a former volunteer for the V. A. Hospital in Fayetteville for 21 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge #877 in Springdale and a former member of Elks Lodge #2144 in Rogers, Ark. He was a member of the old time Fiddlers Association and the Springdale Senior Center, where he sang with the Silver Tones.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Netto, four Brothers, Manuel, Gilbert, George and Joe of Santa Cruz, Calif., three Sisters Alice of Kentucky, Helen and Adeline of California and stepson Morton (Skip) Wayne Carnes of Springdale.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. Netto, two stepsons, Bobby D. Carnes and Wife Mary Alice of Rogers, and Timothy C. Carnes and wife Charlotte of Greenland. He also has two brothers, Johnny Netto and wife Laura of Salinas, Calif., and Arthur Netto of Simpsonville, S.C. Two grandchildren, Justin Bo Wayne Carnes and wife Leslie and Laura Jade Farris and Joe Farris of Lowell. Four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

At his request, Raymond Netto’s body has been donated to the University of Arkansas, Department of Anatomy in Little Rock, Ark., Department of Medical Sciences. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorials be made to the church of your choice, the Springdale Senior Center, or the charity of your choice.

FAYETTEVILLE — Jerry Canada, 58, of Westville, Okla., passed away on July 5, 2017 at Fayetteville, Ark. from hospital food.

Survived by his wife Gina Darling Canada; mother, Pauline Canada; and children Keri Horton, Bobbie Craven and Jason Canada; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Canada; his father, Horace Canada; his brothers, Tommy and Terry Canada and sister Sandra Canada.

He was a long time roofer for Franklin and Son Roofing. He was a legend in his time. He loved Fords, fried chicken, Friday night and country life. He has done everything from chasing the ginger bread man to being hit in the head with a frying pan, 1000 horses couldn’t take this man down but hospital food managed to defeat him. He will be loved and missed by a lot of people.

There will be a memorial at the Westville, OK Community Building on July 10, 2017 from 6:30-8 p.m. Bring a covered dish and celebrate his life with us.

FAYETTEVILLE — Sheryl Lynn Clark, 59 of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away July 4, 2017 in Marietta, Ga. She was born Jan. 15, 1958 in San Rafael, Ca., to Thomas McFadden and Peggy Joe (Walker) McFadden.

She is survived by her father Thomas McFadden of Woodstock, Ga., mother Peggy Sanders of Fayetteville, Ark., one son, Edward Clark and his wife Elizabeth of Fayetteville, Ark., one daughter, Dara Beasley and husband Shaun of Bentonville, Ark., and three grandchildren Bryce and Emmy Clark of Fayetteville, Ark., and Miles Beasley of Bentonville, Ark.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12th in the Chapel of Moore’s Funeral Chapel. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until service time. Burial will follow at West Fork Cemetery in West Fork, Ark.

FAYETTEVILLE — Johnnie Lee Winters, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 8, 2017 in Springdale. He was born on April 1, 1943 at the Fayetteville City Hospital to Russell J. and Lula Belle (Shreve) Winters. He attended school in Farmington from elementary through high school and was a printer by trade. He is preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Shannon Coonfield.

Johnnie is survived by his wife Connie S. Winters; a daughter Tonna L. Smith and husband Tom; a step-son Michael Coonfield and wife Jennifer; and four grandchildren.

HUNTSVILLE — Marion M. Snyder, 76, of Huntsville, died July 6, 2017.

LOWELL — Juanita Corine Harvey, 72, of Lowell, Ark., went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2017.

Juanita, the daughter of Warren and Ervene (Davis) Artman, was born on Jan. 9, 1945.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roger; her parents; two sisters, Anna and Thelma; two brothers, Joe and Henry and nephew, Micky Hess.

She is survived by two sisters, Minnie Hess of Springdale, Ark., and Dorothy Godsey of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives.

PEA RIDGE — Mary Lee Adams, 88, of, Pea Ridge, died July 6 at Concordia Nursing and Rehab in Bella Vista.

She was born April 2, 1929 in Pea Ridge to Herbert Lee Givens and Lola Mabel Carden Givens. She graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1947. On April 10, 1948 she married Charles Adams in West Chicago, Ill., and they were married 63 years before his death in 2011. The couple moved back to Pea Ridge where they made their home. She was employed at the Benton County Collectors Office as an Assistant Tax Collector for 23 ½ years before her retirement in 1991. She became a member of First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge in 1946 and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charlie Adams and two sons, Curtis Lynn and Jerry Don Adams.

Survivors are a son Mike Adams (Frances) of Bella Vista; two grandchildren Josh Adams (Amy) of Ft. Smith and Nathan Adams (Lindsay) of Bentonville; two great-granddaughters Sarah Grace Adams of Ft. Smith and Sidney Lynn Adams of Bentonville, one great-grandson Evan David Adams of Bentonville; and her good friend of 60+ years Janella Buttry of Pea Ridge.

Service is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Al Fowler officiating. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in the Pea Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 10 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. PRAIRIE GROVE —

Diana Lynn Watson, 61, of Prairie Grove passed away on July 5, 2017. She was born Sept. 23, 1955 to Flora Jean Jarboe and Ron Willard.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a son, Allen “Skip” Watson.

Diana is survived by her daughter, Shelly Thomas; a granddaughter, Ashley Sutton; three grandsons, Niles Brandon Thomas, Tristen Sullins and Takoma Dobbs; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Sutton.

Diana loved to watch her son play baseball, her granddaughter play softball and her grandson play baseball and football.

A private memorial ceremony with the family will follow at a later date.

ROGERS — Emma Dolores “Dee” Bailey, 71, of Rogers, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home. She was born July 22, 1945 in Bentonville to Sidney Andrew “Buster” and Ruby Arvilla Williams Oliver. Dee had a love for the outdoors, wildlife and cats.

She is survived by her husband of the home; two children, Pam Thoene and husband Brian of Coleridge, Neb., Sam Eck and wife Rhonda of Thomas, Okla.; a step-daughter, Shalon Dunlap of Woodward, Okla.; one sister, Mary DeShields; one brother, Charles Oliver; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Yogi” Oliver.

ROGERS — Elwood Perry “Ace” DePontee, 86 of Rogers passed away July 4, 2017 peacefully at his lake home with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 2, 1931 to the late Raymond S. and Irene Tolhurst DePontee in Niagra Falls, New York where he spent his early childhood before the family moved to Costa Mesa, Calif.

Ace proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War and returned to begin a 60-year marriage to the love of his life, Charlene Dolloff, who survives. His 30-year career as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft took them to Anaheim, where they raised their family and he served as Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts before retiring to Rogers, Ark., in 1987. For 20-years Ace served as Captain of the 94-East Volunteer Fire Department in Benton County.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene; a daughter Patricia; three-sons Raymond, William, and Frederick; seven-grandchildren; 11-great-grandchildren; extended family members and dear friends. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

ROGERS — Pat McKee went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 7, 2017. She was born April 11, 1961 to Maxine and Loy Sloan in Springdale, Ark. She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband of 34 years, Robin McKee of Rogers; son, Tyler McKee of Rogers; one brother, David Sloan of Rogers, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.

Pat was an angel to many and kind to all who knew her. Her loving spirit will be sorely missed. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and playing with her beloved dog, Bobo. The family rejoices in her reunion with her mother, who recently passed and all the other family members and friends who have gone before.

Services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Pallbearers are Dwayne Young, Denver Clark, Harold Logan, Johnny Eoff, Kelly Eoff and Bob Eaton. Interment will follow the ceremony at Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

SPRINGDALE — Fern

Vivian Brown went to be with our Lord on July 7, 2017. She was born in Searcy County, Ark., on Feb. 29, 1924 to Clarence Viney and Ollie Viney (Fortner). After graduating from Western Grove High School, she moved to Wichita, Kan., and worked as a “Rosy The Riveter” at the Boeing Company helping build B-29 bombers for the World War II war effort. She subsequently joined the Army Cadet Nursing Corps nurse training program and spent a long career in the nursing field in Houston, Texas and Harrison, Ark.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Hancock and her nephew and caretaker Dwight David Hancock of Lowell, Ark., her brother, Daniel Viney, of Palmdale, Calif.; and numerous other nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O’Conner Brown and six siblings.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 12, at Cauffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Ark., from 10-11 a.m. A graveside service will be held for family following visitation. Interment will be at Glenncoe Cemetery in Pindall.

SPRINGDALE — Larry

Alan Huntington, age 59, of Springdale, died July 6, 2017 at home. He was born Dec. 16, 1957 in Quincy Calif., to John and Doris Huntington.

He is proceeded in death by one son John Huntington. He is survived by his wife Terry Huntington and one son Allan Huntington of the home. He has one granddaughter Emily Huntington.

SPRINGDALE — Jeneva

H. Lewis, 90 of Springdale passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 7, 1926 in Houston, Texas to Willis and Eva Wilder Hart.

Jeneva was an office manager for a CPA and the Past President of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Springdale and Fayetteville and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband

of 46 years Richard L. Lewis, Jr., three sisters, Willice Noe, Lee White, Mary Copeland and one brother, Jess L Hart.

Survivors include one son, Richard L. Lewis, III and wife Diane of Springdale; one grandson, Matthew Lewis of Springdale. Many nieces and nephews and a special relationship with her niece, Carolyn Mills of Indiana.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Geyer Springs United Methodist Church in Little Rock with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

SPRINGDALE — Margaret “Ann” Replogle of Springdale, Ark,. passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born in Council Grove, Kan., to Frank and Vera Endicott. She married Gerald Replogle on Dec. 7, 1946 in Liberal, Kan. They celebrated 54 years of marriage of which over 40 years were spent farming in the Viney Grove Community in Prairie Grove. She worked side by side with Gerald raising cattle, poultry and horses. Ann’s true passion in life was both her love for the Lord and her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ann had a heart for hospitality as shown through her baking, serving and loving others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Replogle; her parents, Frank and Vera Endicott; her brother, Bill Endicott and her sister, Rita Ford.

Left to cherish Ann’s memory are her two daughters, Brenda Price and husband Jamie of Rogers, Ark., and Rhonda Henley of Springdale, Ark.; four grandchildren, Ashley Stills, Lauren Pile, Meagan Backs and Austin Henley; one great grandchild, Lane Pile and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2017 at Westfield Chapel funeral home in Springdale, Ark. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Her final resting place will be at the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Ark.

SPRINGDALE — LaVerna Grace Rogers, Born Aug. 30, 1930 was gathered gently into the arms of her Savior on July 7, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Ralph Rogers. Her parents Rev. Jasper R. and Mary Odessa Lewis, her sisters Verba Lewis and Junia Waterman and husband Claude.

She is survived by Daughter, Dana McCartney and husband Gene; Son JD Rogers and wife Debbie all of Springdale; Grandchildren in order of their appearance Chris Rogers and wife Pam of Springdale, Tonya Rogers of San Antonio, Tyler McCartney and wife Carli of Fayetteville and Payton McCartney of Springdale; Great-grandchildren Jenna and Page Rogers.

She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed!

Visitation will be Monday, July 10, from 5–7pm at Westfield Chapel.
