Lowell lanes close for work on bypass

Work associated with construction of the U.S. 412 northern bypass will require lane closures on South Goad Springs Street in Lowell for five days beginning today, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The northbound and southbound lanes on South Goad Springs Street will alternately be closed to allow bridge beams to be erected for an interchange ramp over the roadway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily through Friday, weather permitting.

Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic barrels and warning signs, the department said. Two lanes of traffic will be restored daily by 2 p.m.
