On preventative care

-

President Trump states he doesn’t want anyone dying in the street. Without Medicaid and/or Medicare coverage to treat chronic health issues, give preventive care and provide routine screening, what could go wrong? Surely you don’t think the ER will offer a mammogram, pap smear, chest X-ray or colonoscopy.

If you lack wealth and will possibly get old, become sick or develop health issues, the BRCA (Trumpcare) could leave you and 22 million others high and dry.

I think it’s naïve to believe Donald Trump’s GOP, Tom Cotton or John Boozman care about your health. Have you heard a peep from our Arkansas senators? Their lack of concern is chilling.

Your baby better be born perfect and remain that way. You or your parents better not become old, get sick or develop chronic health problems. Think dementia, heart disease or cancer. Too little care too late and you will be sicker and die sooner. States with Medicaid expansion such as New York, Maine, and Arizona have reduced death by 6 percent; it’s a lifesaver and cost-reducer.

Please contact our senators before they vote to approve Trumpcare and let them know you expect compassion. Ask Senator Cotton and Senator Boozman about their health coverage. And then pray. JOE SEAMAN Lakeview
