Joe Ellis Upholstery and Ellis Fabrics provide professional services for your summer projects

- BY SARAH HANEY

Summer is here and it’s time to break out the family camper and patio furniture for outdoor festivities. To prepare, you may want to update the upholstery on your outdoor or recreational furniture. Ellis Fabrics and Joe Ellis Upholstery of Bentonville provide quality fabrics and services for all of your indoor and outdoor upholstery needs.

A few years ago, Cheryl and her son, Joe Ellis, opened Ellis Fabrics in response to the needs of Joe’s upholstery customers. Joe Ellis Upholstery has been in business since 2008 and does commercial and residential upholstery including antique and leather furniture, as well as outdoor cushions, RV motor home cushions, doctor and chiropractor offices, waiting room chairs, fitness equipment, and decorative pillows. Custom ottomans and headboards can also be built by Joe Ellis Upholstery and upholstered with fabric from Ellis Fabrics. Joe Ellis Upholstery was recognized by the community as a 2016 Best of the Best Finalist and continues to serve the community’s upholstery and fabric needs.

The fabrics at Ellis’ may be a discontinued pattern or from a store closing, where they were bought at a low price, helping Ellis Fabrics sell them at a reasonable price. “The fabrics we carry are fabrics that work well for upholstery jobs,” stated Cheryl. “We keep these fabrics at a really reasonable price point.” Fabrics range in price anywhere from $8.50 to $15 a yard. Ellis also carries special order fabric, including genuine leather. “Whatever your price point, we try to have something for everybody,” added Cheryl. In addition to the wide variety of quality fabrics, there is also an array of trims from which to choose.

This is the time of year when people are ready to get out, sit on the deck, or go camping — and outdoor fabrics are a top seller during summer at Ellis Fabrics. Camper and RV owners frequent the fabric store (as well as Joe Ellis Upholstery) during the summer months to update or fix their upholstery. Ellis Fabrics offers a wide range of outdoor upholstery fabrics that are perfect for summer projects.

“We really do have a good selection in here, and a lot of bargains,” noted Cheryl. “We always carry a lot of remnants and small yardages at bargain prices, as well as a $5/yard bin.” Many of the remnant fabrics are great for craft projects — whether it be to make bags, dog beds, dresses, or costumes.

If you need advice on how to get the look you want, Ellis Fabrics has a designer on staff who is available Mondays and Tuesdays. If you are confused or overwhelmed by the task of selecting the right fabrics for your project, you may bring cushions, pillows, or pictures by and the designer will help you achieve the look you want.

Joe Ellis Upholstery and Ellis Fabrics are located at 8822 W. McNelly Road in Bentonville. Joe Ellis Upholstery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Ellis Fabrics is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
