Rogers man ar­rested in road rage in­ci­dent

BEN­TONVILLE — A Rogers man was in the Ben­ton County Jail on Tues­day in con­nec­tion with a road rage in­ci­dent that re­sulted in a stab­bing ear­lier this month, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Vic­tor Miguel Col­lazo-Ramirez, 19, was ar­rested Fri­day in con­nec­tion with bat­tery. His bond was set at $20,000.

Rogers po­lice were called at 8:16 p.m. July 10 to Mercy Hos­pi­tal about an in­ci­dent at South First Street and Post Road.

Ce­sar San­til­lan told po­lice he got into a fight with an­other driver and was stabbed by the man, ac­cord­ing to court doc­u­ments. Po­lice were able to iden­tify the other driver as Col­lazo-Ramirez.

San­til­lan told of­fi­cers he was driv­ing on Laura Street to­ward Kirk­sey Mid­dle School to play soc­cer. San­til­lan said the driver of a green Chevro­let Avalanche was headed in the op­po­site di­rec­tion, and he started to yell at San­til­lan, ac­cord­ing to the af­fi­davit.

San­til­lan told po­lice he was headed home when Col­lazo-Ramirez pulled up next to him at Sec­ond and Nec­es­sary streets and yelled at him. San­til­lan said he con­tin­ued home and re­al­ized Col­lazo-Ramirez was fol­low­ing him. San­til­lan told po­lice Col­lazo-Ramirez parked be­hind him in the drive­way, ac­cord­ing to the af­fi­davit.

San­til­lan and Col­lazo-Ramirez got out of their cars and be­gan to fight. San­til­lan told po­lice he thought Col­lazo-Ramirez had a phone in one of his hands, but San­til­lan re­al­ized he was bleed­ing af­ter the fight, ac­cord­ing to the af­fi­davit.

San­til­lan had a lac­er­a­tion on his left fore­arm and a smaller cut on his left up­per back. San­til­lan had to have re­con­struc­tive surgery on his arm, ac­cord­ing to court doc­u­ments.

San­til­lan’s 17- year- old daugh­ter told po­lice she saw what ap­peared to be a knife with a dark blade in Col­lazo-Ramirez’s hand.

Po­lice were able to iden­tify Col­lazo-Ramirez af­ter they learned he bragged about the in­ci­dent on so­cial me­dia, ac­cord­ing to the af­fi­davit.

Pros­e­cu­tors haven’t filed a for­mal charge against Col­lazo-Ramirez. His ar­raign­ment is sched­uled for 8 a.m. Aug. 21 in Ben­ton County Cir­cuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
