Elkins man sen­tenced for child pornog­ra­phy

FAYET­TEVILLE — An Elkins man was sen­tenced Wed­nes­day to fed­eral prison for child pornog­ra­phy.

Ge­orge Ha­gadone, 52, was sen­tenced to four years and eight months fol­lowed by a life­time of su­per­vised re­lease on one count of re­ceipt of child pornog­ra­phy.

Be­gin­ning in June 2016, De­part­ment of Home­land Se­cu­rity In­ves­ti­ga­tions iden­ti­fied a com­puter up­load­ing videos de­pict­ing child pornog­ra­phy. Dur­ing the course of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion the ad­dress as­so­ci­ated with the com­puter was at Ha­gadone’s home, ac­cord­ing to court records.

The com­puter con­tain­ing child pornog­ra­phy was seized Jan. 12 and Ha­gadone ad­mit­ted to down­load­ing and pos­sess­ing the ma­te­rial.

Ha­gadone pleaded guilty in March.

As­sis­tant U.S. At­tor­ney De­nis Dean pros­e­cuted the case. U.S. Dis­trict Judge Tim Brooks presided over the sen­tenc­ing.
