Arkansas pair complete Southern Amateur

Peyton Wilhoit of Searcy and Luke Long of Fayetteville finished play Saturday in the final round of the 111th annual Southern Amateur at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst.

Wilhoit shot a 6-over 78 and finished the tournament in a tie for 63rd place at 6-over (294). Long was 6 over Saturday and 8-over 296 overall, good for a tie for 67th.

Karl Vilips of Australia won the event with a 15-under 273, one stroke ahead of Stoney Crouch of Mount Juliet, Tenn.
