Big Boat Bash
Jeremy Helt of Elm Springs readies his 38-foot-high performance boat at Prairie Creek park Saturday for the Big Boat Bash held Saturday at Beaver Lake. About 70 high performance boats, some that reach speeds of more than 100 mph, took part in the event to benefit Sheep Dog Impact Resistance. The group provides support and outdoor adventure trips to veterans, firefighters and law enforcement. Skippers from several states brought their boats to the lake, said Michael Nimmo with Sheep Dog. The day included cruising, a poker run and lunch on the lake.
