Asphalt work set in Benton County

-

Repair work at three intersections in Benton County will require lane closings for three days beginning Monday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Weather permitting, the following intersections will have alternating lane closures so sections of asphalt can be removed in preparation for replacement. These lane closings will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the indicated dates:

■ Monday: the intersection of Puppy Creek and Wagon Wheel roads in Springdale just west of the Wagon Wheel exit on Interstate 49 in front of APA’s Sharps Quarry.

■ Tuesday: the intersection of U.S. 71B, Arkansas 264 East and Wagon Wheel Road.

■ Wednesday: the intersection of U.S. 71B, Arkansas 264 West and Monroe Avenue in Rogers.

Crews will replace the removed asphalt between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 6, weather permitting, the department said. If work is not completed on Aug. 6, it will be completed during the same times on Aug. 13.

Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, the department said.
