Writers hear editor’s view
Denise Roy, an editor formerly with Simon & Schuster and Penguin Random House, leads a discussion at the Village Writing School on topics of interest to writers at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Center for Nonprofits at 1200 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. Roy will discuss the one-page synopsis. Participants in this workshop are invited to submit a synopsis for review on Sept. 7.
The one-page synopsis is an important tool used by agents and editors to evaluate a manuscript. It is often attached to the query letter. A well-written synopsis can make or break a book’s chance to be read by an agent or publisher.
The sessions are open to the public and the cost for each month’s workshop is $15.
