Embarrassing times

I am embarrassed to be called an American from Arkansas. The example being set by our senators and representatives is appalling. Their silence on the crude behaviors exhibited by our president and the members of the White House staff is beyond comprehension. The profane and vulgar language, the bullying tactics, the attacks on the former president and secretary of state at campaign-style rallies are inappropriate at best. The president encourages violence and uses incendiary language while speaking. What will it take for our members of Congress to say, “Enough is Enough!”

We do not expect such unruly behaviors from our children, friends or spouse. Why are these un-Christian words and actions allowed and tolerated from the president and his staff? The president shows a total lack of understanding of basic social graces, decorum and a total disregard of the office he holds and the country he represents.

What will it take? Are Americans going to live under this kind of negative influence and lack of respect for the next four years? What happened to the dignity of the office of president of the United States of America? What has happened to members of Congress that they are allowing such despicable behaviors to continue? Your silence is deafening.

What kind of example is being set? When will it stop? How low do we have to go before someone says something? What will it take?
