Arozarena gives Cards win against Naturals

SPRING­FIELD, Mo. — Randy Arozarena hit a walkoff solo homer in the 12th in­ning, as the Spring­field Car­di­nals beat the North­west Arkansas Naturals 8-7 on Sat­ur­day.

Samir Duenez hit a tworun home run in the first in­ning to give the Naturals a 2-0 lead. The Car­di­nals came back to take a 3-2 lead in the first in­ning when they crossed the plate for three runs, in­clud­ing a dou­ble by An­thony Gar­cia that scored John No­gowski.

NW Arkansas re­gained the lead 5-3 af­ter it scored three runs in the third in­ning, in­clud­ing a solo home run by Duenez.

Spring­field tied the game 7-7 in the eighth when Jesse Jen­ner hit an RBI sin­gle, scor­ing Os­car Mer­cado.

Arozarena was a triple short of the cy­cle, scor­ing a pair of runs while also driv­ing home a cou­ple in the win.

Tyler Bray (7-0) got the win with two in­nings of score­less, one-hit re­lief while Mark Peter­son (0-1) took the loss in the Texas League game.
