Arozarena gives Cards win against Naturals
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Randy Arozarena hit a walkoff solo homer in the 12th inning, as the Springfield Cardinals beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 8-7 on Saturday.
Samir Duenez hit a tworun home run in the first inning to give the Naturals a 2-0 lead. The Cardinals came back to take a 3-2 lead in the first inning when they crossed the plate for three runs, including a double by Anthony Garcia that scored John Nogowski.
NW Arkansas regained the lead 5-3 after it scored three runs in the third inning, including a solo home run by Duenez.
Springfield tied the game 7-7 in the eighth when Jesse Jenner hit an RBI single, scoring Oscar Mercado.
Arozarena was a triple short of the cycle, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple in the win.
Tyler Bray (7-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Mark Peterson (0-1) took the loss in the Texas League game.
