Food de­liv­ery ser­vice Waitr starts to roll

Waitr, an on-de­mand restau­rant busi­ness, ar­rived in North­west Arkansas last week. The Waitr app is used in cities across the Gulf states, in­clud­ing mul­ti­ple lo­ca­tions in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mis­sis­sippi. Waitr is hir­ing driv­ers in North­west Arkansas. It also launched in Lit­tle Rock.

Chris Meaux, the com­pany’s founder, said the de­liv­ery charge is a flat fee of $5 and the ser­vice in­cludes door-todoor de­liv­ery.

Dozens of North­west Arkansas restau­rants are par­tic­i­pat­ing, in­clud­ing Wood Stone Craft Pizza + Bar, Foghorn’s, Mock­ing­bird Kitchen, Sassy’s BBQ & Grill and Newk’s Eatery.

Users cre­ate an ac­count, choose a restau­rant, browse the menu, select items and tap to sub­mit the or­der. Or­der­ing is also avail­able on­line at wait­rapp.com.

The com­pany be­gan in 2015 in Lake Charles, La. Waitr has more than 2,000 restau­rants and hun­dreds of thou­sands of users in more than 100 cities.
