Churches can’t sustain care in place of Obamacare

Dale Lange [Letters, July 24] tells us in his letter that “Christians, churches and communities have always organized to take care of the poor.”

When and where? Has anyone out there ever had their rent, medical insurance or food bills paid by a Christian church or community on a steady basis?

If you have, please write to the editor so he can impart the information to all the people who’ll be losing their health insurance when Obamacare is revoked.

Another thing I found hard to believe in his letter was his cavalier attitude toward the Russian involvement in our elections. I’m amazed by the number of Americans who seem to share his opinion in spite of the ever-mounting incriminating evidence surfacing every day.

Elections are one of our most sacred rights and in my opinion we should all be outraged by the idea that another country, especially one like Russia, our sworn and most dangerous enemy, had even the slightest influence in their outcome.

Makes me wonder why I and so many other veterans risked our lives fighting Communism in Korea and Vietnam. EDWARD MARTIN Rogers
