LOW­ELL — Roger “Pup” Bruce Sals­man, 63, of Low­ell passed away Fri­day, Aug. 11, 2017, at North­west Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Spring­dale. He was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Spring­field, Mo., to Elmer Franklin and Joan Hol­land Sals­man.

Roger (Pup) worked for the Ben­ton County Road Depart­ment.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents.

Sur­vivors in­clude his for­mer wife, Tr­ish Sals­man Wil­liams; one daugh­ter, Au­tumn Hol­land and hus­band Jamie of Low­ell; two sis­ters, Su­san El­more and hus­band Tommy of Low­ell and Char­lene Sals­man and Aaron Whit­tle of Salem, Ore.; one grand­child, Cade Hol­land; and three nieces, Jen­nifer, Jamie and Jolyanna.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held Tues­day, Aug. 15, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Spring­dale.

ROGERS — Mrs. Ar­lene Allen Carter, age 56, of Rogers, Ark., passed away,

Thurs­day, Aug. 10, 2017, in Ben­tonville, Ark. Ar­lene was born Nov. 7, 1960, to Or­lin and Mary Allen in Great Falls, Mont.

She was pre­ceded in death by her fa­ther Or­lin Allen.

Mrs. Carter was sur­vived by her hus­band Steven Carter, and her two chil­dren Jesse Allen, and Tasha Hoyt.

ROGERS — Wil­liam “Bill” Bruce Ki­bat, 64, of Rogers, passed from this life on Aug. 9, 2017, in Rogers. He was born on Aug. 13, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ge­orge and Peggy (Re­ich­ling) Ki­bat.

Bill en­joyed coach­ing and play­ing soft­ball and play­ing pool.

He is pre­ceded in death by his par­ents.

Bill is sur­vived by sib­lings, Betty Ki­bat of Rogers, Jim Ki­bat and wife Sh­eryl of Rogers, Ge­orge Ki­bat of Rogers, Deb­bie Thomas of Man­hat­tan, Mont.; and many nieces and neph­ews.

SILOAM SPRINGS — Gary Daryl New­ton, 52, passed away Aug. 10, 2017, at the Cir­cle of Life Hospice House in Spring­dale, Ark., af­ter a long bat­tle with ALS. He was born in Spring­dale, Ark., on July 15, 1965, to J.B. and Ruth New­ton.

He grad­u­ated from Gen­try High School. Gary at­tend ju­nior col­lege in Ok­la­homa and grad­u­ated from COM School of Min­istry in Tulsa, Okla., in 1995. He mar­ried Cory E. Hun­ni­cutt on Dec. 19, 1994. They had one son, Tyler New­ton, on April 21, 1998. He was a ded­i­cated Chris­tian, lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther and friend.

Gary worked as a Chil­dren’s Pas­tor for sev­eral years in Ok­la­homa, af­ter he was mar­ried. Af­ter the birth of his son, the fam­ily moved back home to NW Ar­kan­sas where he worked in sales for TEW, Inc.

Gary loved spend­ing time with his friends and fam­ily. He was a HUGE sports fan.

He loved both watch­ing and play­ing mul­ti­ple sports. He es­pe­cially en­joyed teach­ing, play­ing and watch­ing his son, Tyler play bas­ket­ball. He en­joyed hunt­ing, fish­ing and be­ing out­doors.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Cory and son Tyler of the home in Siloam Springs, Ark.; his mother, Ruth New­ton of Gen­try, Ark.; his brother, Gene New­ton, wife Su­san New­ton and their chil­dren Jonathan, Rachel, David and Matthew of Gen­try; sis­ter, Gail Lang­ford of Spring­dale; nephew, Brad Doss and wife Daila and their daugh­ter Lucy of Spring­dale; niece, Cristina Copeland, her hus­band James and their chil­dren Ai­den, Asher and Av­lyn of Spring­dale; fa­ther- in- law, John Hun­ni­cutt of Ok­la­homa; brother-in-law, Stephen and wife Karen of Ken­tucky and their chil­dren Michael, Karen Doss (her hus­band Nick and their son Jo­sue), Kait­lynn Ta­tro (her hus­band Dal­ton their chil­dren Is­abella, Ka­rina, Katylia and Ay­den), Brit­tany Hun­ni­cutt (her daugh­ter Keylie), Johnathan, Joshua, Abi­gail, and Joe; brother-in­law, Shawn Hun­ni­cutt, wife Tina and chil­dren Kami Kidd and Cole Hun­ni­cutt of Mar­ble, Ark. Gary also has a large num­ber of sur­viv­ing aunts, un­cles, cousins and in-laws.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Gary’s life will be held in the gym­na­sium of the First Chris­tian Church of Siloam Springs, Ark., lo­cated at 1405 West Jef­fer­son St., Siloam Springs, Ark. 72761, on Aug. 26, 2017 from 4 p.m. Ev­ery­one is en­cour­aged to share their fa­vorite mem­o­ries of Gary while eat­ing of few of Gary’s fa­vorite foods, laugh and re­mem­ber the love we shared for him.

SPRING­DALE — Hal­lie Frances San­ders, age 96, ( formerly of Spring­field) passed away on Aug. 8, 2017,

in Spring­dale, Ark. She was born on Oct. 30, 1920, in Greene County, Mis­souri.

Hal­lie was a grad­u­ate of Wil­lard High School in 1939 then at­tended Cen­tral Mis­souri State in War­rens­burg, Mo. She loved play­ing the pi­ano, cro­chet­ing, church and fam­ily. She was a mem­ber of Santa Fe Bap­tist Church in Weather­ford, Texas. Hal­lie was a proud home­maker.

She mar­ried Wil­lard Eu­gene Scrog­gins and to this union they had two chil­dren, son James Eu­gene Scrog­gins and daugh­ter Linda Scrog­gins Bandy. Wil­lard was killed in ac­tion in Ger­many dur­ing World War II. She then mar­ried Roy Lee San­ders and they had two chil­dren, Roger Wil­liam San­ders and daugh­ter Ava Gail San­ders Kle­sen.

Hal­lie is pre­ceded in death by her fa­ther, Al­fred Den­nis Fire­stone; mother, Lila No­ble Fire­stone; three broth­ers, Paul Fire­stone, Glen Fire­stone and James Fire­stone; both her hus­bands, Wil­lard and Roy Lee; and a son-in­law, Ma­jor Joseph Kle­sen; and a daugh­ter-in-law, Linda Chris­tian­son Scrog­gins.

She is sur­vived by her chil­dren, James Scrog­gins of Hu­mansville, Mo., Linda Bandy and hus­band Wayne Bandy of In­de­pen­dence, Mo., Roger San­ders and wife Con­nie of Spring­dale, Ark., and Ava Gail Kle­sen of Bella Vista, Ark.; seven grand­chil­dren; and nine great-grand­chil­dren.

Funeral ser­vices will be on Mon­day, Aug. 14, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. in Green­lawn Funeral Home South with the burial fol­low­ing in Mis­souri Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery at 11 a.m.

ERIN, Tenn. — Jonathan Lee Plant, 72 of Erin, Tenn., passed away on Aug. 10, 2017. He was born on Aug. 11, 1944, in Fair­field, Calif., to Thomas Plant and Edith Plant.

He’s sur­vived by his wife, Diane; sons, Sean (Staci) Ben­nett, Louis Brero; sis­ter, Su­san (Jerry) Dud­ley; eight grand­chil­dren and six great-grand­chil­dren.
