■ Meghan McCain said her 80-year-old father, U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has completed a first round of radiation and chemothera­py as he battles glioblasto­ma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, and she said on Twitter that his “resilience & strength is incredible.”

■ Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s 74-year-old president, returned to his country Saturday after spending more than three months in London for treatment for what his office called a “health challenge” without providing details on what has been ailing him.

■ Oscar Steinmetz, 64, of Maryland Heights, Mo., who drove a school bus from 2014-16, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for producing child pornograph­y over a decade ago.

■ Cathy Helton of Tennessee hit a hole-in-one in her first round of golf since undergoing 35 radiation treatments, 16 rounds of chemothera­py and five surgeries in the past year to treat her breast cancer, The Tennessean reported.

■ Tyler Wheeler of Ouachita Parish, La., an enforcemen­t agent with the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries who was shot in a January traffic stop, has returned to work after undergoing multiple surgeries, including to reattach part of his skull and repair jaw damage.

■ Cynthia Marie Randolph, 25, of north Texas was indicted on two counts of knowingly causing serious bodily injury to a child after, police said, she locked her two toddlers in a car for several hours to teach them a lesson because her daughter often got out of the vehicle without permission, and both children died.

■ Dominic DiLuzio and Alex Cox, both of Boston, said they’ve set the world record for traveling to every stop on the city’s subway system in 7 hours, 29 minutes and 46 seconds, The Boston Globe reported.

■ Cecily Burton, 31, and an acquaintan­ce face attempted murder and child abuse charges after Burton’s son, 9, was hospitaliz­ed with injuries including 100 bruises on his back, fluid behind his eye, broken bones, a home-stitched ear and malnourish­ment, said police in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

■ Leslie Kahn, 61, who became stranded in a swimming pool after the ladder broke and she wasn’t strong enough to pull herself out, used a pool pole to drag toward her the chair on which her iPad was sitting, then used the device to post on Facebook that she needed help, and her neighbors and police arrived to assist her.
