Ardina, Rohanna tied for lead in El Dorado

Dottie Ardina of the Philippine­s and Rachel Rohanna of Waynesburg, Pa., are tied for the lead after the first round of the Symetra Tour’s El Dorado Shootout at Mystic Creek Golf Club.

Ardina and Rohanna each shot a 5-under 67 to grab the first-round lead over Celine Boutier of France, who carded a 4-under 68. The 67s tied the tournament record for a lowest 18-hole round.

Augusta James and Hannah Green, both winners on the Symetra Tour, are tied for fourth after shooting 3-under 69s.

A total of 14 players were under par, with Ardina the only player in the field who did not make a bogey. She finished her round making a 30-foot birdie at the par-4 9th.

Rohanna tied for ninth at the 2015 Shootout at Mystic Creek as part of her 12 career top-10 finishes on the Symetra Tour.

Julia Roth (Central Arkansas) is in a nine-way tie for 15th after shooting an even-par 72, which included three birdies and three bogeys.

Summar Roachell (Conway, Arkansas Razorbacks), playing in her first tournament as a profession­al, is in a logjam in 46th place. She shot a 3-over 75, which included three bogeys and a double bogey to go with three birdies for a front-nine 38. After a double bogey at the par-4 10th, Roachell birdied the par-4 11th to get to 3 over, where she stayed after pars on her final seven holes.

The second of three rounds will begin at 7:15 a.m. today.
