Drum he marches to

-

Where are Barack Obama, John Kerry and Bill Clinton, just when Dianne Feinstein and assorted other Democrats so desperately need someone to go kiss Rocket Man’s ring, shine his shoes, and maybe cut a deal to hand South Korea over to him? That’s their kind of peacekeeping, isn’t it?

Obama, Kerry and Clinton may no longer be in public office, but as anyone who has ever come across the path of a long-gone skunk knows, the stench they leave behind seems to cling and nauseate forever.

The Donald Trump who told the UN General Assembly just how the cookie crumbles concerning North Korea, Iran and Syria is the president I had high hopes he would be when I voted for him. The only beat he marches to is the one he drums himself, so maybe I won’t agree with what he does tomorrow, but I love what he did Tuesday! So great to have a real man in the Oval Office again for a change. JACK MAYBERRY Sheridan

Something to think on

I believe this world is not ours. God made the world and all things in it. It is his. He put us on this earth; his only requirement was that we obey his commandments. Many of us do not do that; many don’t even admit he exists.

With all that is going on in the world—floods, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, mudslides, etc.—I get the strong feeling that God is talking and it is about time we listened. Just think about it. EVELYN SAVOLD Bella Vista

Razorback reproach

I agree with C.L. Kops’ Voices letter condemning Bret Bielema for the negative public comments he made about the kicker who missed two short field goals against TCU. A college coach should never publicly shame or humiliate one of his players. I think the young man’s father should kick Bielema’s butt from one end of Razorback Stadium to the other. I don’t think he would miss that target.

I also agree with Charles Hart’s Voices letter stating that it is time for the Razorbacks to play the ASU Red Wolves in football. Unfortunately, Jeff Long is maintaining Frank Broyles’ misguided policy of refusing to play in-state rivals in football. In following Coach Broyles’ policy, Long is turning the Razorbacks into the Yellowbacks. I am not cheering for the Yellowbacks. CLINT MILLER
