Developer plans mix-use building
A second large-scale building is scheduled to begin construction in early October at the Johnson Square area and be completed in June, its developers announced.
High Street Real Estate and Development and RMP LLP announced the RMP Building at Johnson Square, a 21,000-square-foot mixed-use building with offices on the top two floors and two restaurant spaces on the ground floor. Ward Davis, principal with High Street, said the building will anchor the west side of the central green in Johnson Square.
The RMP Building will join Washington Regional Medical Center’s Urgent Care & Neurosurgery Clinic already built in Johnson Square. The contractor on the construction of the building is C.R. Crawford Construction, the design architect is Robert Sharp, and the architect of record is Allison + Partners. The building will be owned by principals in High Street and partners in the RMP law firm through Johnson Square RMP Building, LLC. First Security Bank is providing the bank financing for the project.
The development is at Main Street and Johnson Mill Boulevard in Johnson. Infrastructure construction for nearby residences is underway for the first phase of Johnson Square and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Home sales have begun with a mix of 20 houses, six town homes, and 14 cottages available.
