Maumelle 45, Clarksvill­e 28

Maumelle senior Connor McCullough threw four touchdown passes as the Hornets (4-2, 3-0 5A-West) fought past the Panthers (1-5, 0-3) at home.

Clarksvill­e scored the first three touchdowns of the night, going up 21-0 with 8:35 left in the second quarter on a 46-yard run from junior Xavier Holland and 9-yard and 1-yard runs by sophomore Nicholas Buckner.

But Maumelle scored the last three touchdowns of the half, tying the game on 16-yard and 30-yard passes from McCullough to senior Tyric Robinson and a 6-yard run by junior Trey Jackson.

After nearly nine minutes of a scoreless third quarter, McCullough broke the tie with a 30-yard pass to senior Byron Wade.

With 7:27 to go in the fourth quarter, Maumelle junior Antavius Henderson ran 3 yards for a touchdown, putting the Hornets up 35-21.

Less than two minutes later, Clarksvill­e junior Colton Gregory ran 1 yard in for a touchdown to get the Panthers closer to the Hornets.

But Maumelle scored twice in the final minutes on a 26-yard field goal by senior Daniel Wheeler and a 17-yard pass from McCullough to Robinson.

Wheeler was 6-for-6 on extra points for Maumelle. For Clarksvill­e, senior Nathan Cabello as 3-for-3 on extra points, and sophomore Sergio Fernandez was 1-for-1.

Clinton 39, Melbourne 12

Sky Davidson rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns as Clinton (6-0, 3-0 1-3A) topped Melbourne (5-1, 2-1).

Clinton Quarterbac­k Weston Amos completed 5 of 7 passes for 100 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Sowell.

Clinton held a narrow 14-6 lead at halftime but pulled away in the second half. Kadance Sowell capped the Yellowjack­ets’ scoring with a 50-yard run.

Melbourne quarterbac­k Gabe Lawrence was sacked 4 times but threw for 224 yards and a touchdown, completing 21 of 40 passes.

Bauxite 32, Mena 28

Sophomore Hayden Edwards scored two touchdowns and junior linebacker Blake Garrett intercepte­d a pass with 1:26 remaining to stop the Bearcats’ final drive to allow the Miners to hold on to a 7-4A victory at The Pit.

Edwards ran 10 times for 137 yards, scoring on runs of 3 and 53 yards in the game’s first six minutes.

Bauxite (4-2, 2-1 7-4A) scored on its first four possession­s and led 25-8 with 10:03 left in the first half.

Mena’s Justin Dean brought the Bearcats back. The senior running back scored on runs of 15, 15 and 17 yards. He also hauled in a 36-yard scoring pass from Carson Cannon with 3:26 left in the third quarter that gave Mena (33, 0-3) a short-lived 28-25 advantage.

Bauxite regained the lead with 10:06 remaining. Junior Dawson Dabbs’ 23yard touchdown run capped an 11-play, 64-yard drive that ended the night’s scoring.

Mena’s final drive started at its own 4 with 5:25 to play. The Bearcats managed two first downs and reached its own 35, but Edwards’ first career intercepti­on allowed Bauxite to hold on for the victory.

Dean ran 12 times for 91 yards, while Cannon ran 14 times for 85 yards.

Dabbs added 97 yards on the ground on 13 carries.

Harrison 42, Vilonia 14

Caleb Huskey ran for four touchdowns to lead Harrison (5-1, 3-0 5A-West) over Vilonia (0-6, 0-3).

Quarterbac­k Noah Ditmanson scored on a 43-yard run and added a 50-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Jones as the Goblins led 28-0 at halftime.

Vilonia got a 2-yard scoring run by Ben Duff in the third quarter. The Eagles later scored on a touchdown pass in the fourth.
