BENTONVILLE — Kelly Brent Davidson, 72, passed away on Oct. 11, 2017, at home in Bentonville, Ark. He was born on Sept. 1, 1945, in Steele, Mo., the son of Harry and Eleanor Davidson.
Kelly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963-1967 with one deployment to Vietnam. He was a crew chief on UH-34D helicopters. Upon returning to the states, he was stationed in Arizona at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. This is where he met and married Judy on Aug. 21, 1967.
After Kelly was discharged, they moved to Judy’s hometown, Milwaukee, Wis. From there, after various moves, they settled in Bentonville, Ark., in 1978. Most of his career was in food retail sales, which probably led to his passion for cooking for family and friends. In retirement, he continued to go to the grocery stores daily to shop and visit. He knew NO strangers!
He loved baseball, and coaching and umpiring both John and David all through their school years… the last 20 years revolved around his four grandchildren of whom he adored.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Lee Davidson.
Kelly is survived by his mother, Eleanor Davidson, 90, of Judsonia, Ark.; his wife, Judy Davidson of the home; two sons, John Davidson and wife, Teri and their children, Andrew and Savannah of Cumming, Ga., and David Davidson and wife, Gabrielle and their children, Eve and Cameron of Santa Monica, Calif.; a brother, Ricky Davidson and wife, Cynthia of Bald Knob, Ark.; two sisters, Laura McCall and husband, Don of El Paso, Ark., and Paula Thornsberry and husband, Danny of Searcy, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Roger Norbeck and wife, Sandy of Bella Vista, Ark.; a sister-inlaw, Nancy Jones of Bentonville, Ark.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers, Ark., with military honors provided. Visitation will be from 1 p.m., until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark., 72712.

FAYETTEVILLE — Marie Dixon-Jordan, age 82, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in Fayetteville. She was born Apr. 17, 1935, in Sidney, Neb., the daughter of Harry and Mae McClure Gorman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Jordan, her second husband, Wayne Dixon and a daughter, Jeanette Fay Hollingsworth.
She was a retired employee of Tyson Foods and a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy South of Fayetteville; two sons, William O. Jordan and Duane Jordan, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Beth and Beverly; a brother, Jim Gorman of Nebraska; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5–7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery.

HINDSVILLE — Edward
“Eddie” Smith, 69 of Hindsville died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Blackwell, Okla., the son of Robert Smith and Norma Curtis.
He was a carpet installer for several years and married the former Karen Kirk on Sept. 10, 1977, in Springdale, Ark. He was a devout Christian and father who loved to play the guitar and sing. He also loved to camp and being in the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charlie Smith and Debra Reed
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Smith of the home, children, JoAnna McGarrah of Hindsville, Ark., April Barksdale of Witter, Ark., Joseph Smith of Rogers, Ark., Cristal Avalos of Siloam Springs, Ark., Rosie Avalos of Siloam Springs, Ark., Oscar Smith of Hindsville, Ark., Caleb Smith of Lowell, Ark., Sarah Smith of Augusta, Ga., Robert Kratch of Lowell, Ark., Sondra Smith of Hindsville, Ark., Rayvyn Kratch of Hindsville, Ark.; Siblings, Roberta Smith, Richard Smith, Georgia Clayborn, Cecelia Smith and 11 grandchildren.
Family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.

LINCOLN — Ray Braly,
81, a resident of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Cane Hill, the son of Algier Adam and Violet Linnie (Ferguson) Braly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Lee Walker, Russell Walker, Paul (Bo) Walker and Rex Curry, one sister Vinita Edmond.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Marsha Curtis Braly; two sons Glenn Braly and wife Kathy and Paul Braly and wife Judy; his twin sister Ila Gay Patterson; one grandson Bobby Braly; one granddaughter Allison Violet Braly; one great grandson Huxley Gavin Braly; several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Viewing will be Sunday afternoon from 1-5 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the Lincoln Cemetery Pavilion in Lincoln.

Gladys Dean Gaffield,
age 70, passed away in Pea Ridge, Ark., on Oct. 11, 2017. She was born July 10, 1947, in Siloam Springs to Virgil and Gladys Fay (Halley) Forsythe.
She was a lifelong resident of Bentonville. She worked in factories and was a truck driver. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and making funny comments. Gladys was a fun loving person who generally enjoyed life.
She is preceded in death by both parents.
She is survived by her daughter; Tammy Harris of Pea Ridge, Ark.; grandson Bobby Sligar; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jake Sligar, Cory Woodcock; step-grandchildren Jackie and Lizzy.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct.17, 2017, in the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bentonville City Cemetery.

Dial, 76, of Rogers passed away Oct. 14, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born Aug. 22, 1941.

WEST FORK — The family of David A. Ray invite his friends to celebrate his life at the Riverside Park in West Fork, Saturday, Oct. 21 beginning at 1 p.m.
David passed away Sept. 12. He was the son of Dr. Maurice and Nell Ray of West Fork. He is survived by his daughter Kelsey Jennings and her husband Brandon of Fayetteville; a brother John A. Ray of Fayetteville; a sister Carolyn Crider and her husband Marion of West Fork; his nephews and their families Lane, Stacy, Emma and Tuck Crider of Fayetteville and Marcus, Christy, Cole and Lydia Crider of Nashville, Tenn.
ELK BEND, Idaho —
Harold Eldon Smith,
“Smitty”, 76 years of age of Elk Bend (Salmon), Idaho, passed away Oct. 8, 2017, at his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1940, the twin to Elaine. Ernest and Esther (Polsley) Smith in Clarinda, Iowa had eight children Harold was the youngest.
He grew up in Clarinda and Greeley, Colo., where he graduated from high school in 1959. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on July 4, 1959, and served in the 1st, 3rd and 5th Division during Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge on May 31, 1963. On Jan. 24, 1964, he enlisted into the Navy where he was a field medical corpsman until his retirement in 1980.
Harold was united in marriage from 1964-1990 to Caren Swalm and together they had two children: Catherine and Eric. They lived in Japan for a short period while he was in the Navy.
Harold met Linda Rose Penton in Rogers, Ark., in 1990. They were married on Nov. 9, 1992, in Greeley, Colo., and lived in Rogers for several years. In 2001, they purchased their home in Elk Bend, Idaho. In 2002, Linda retired and the two moved to Elk Bend permanently.
He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering in his shop, fishing, gambling, and venturing around the countryside to see all the beautiful lakes and streams of Idaho. Harold also enjoyed visiting the bases in the San Diego, Calif., area and spending time along the ocean.
He is survived by his wife Linda Smith of Elk Bend (Salmon), Idaho, and his cocker spaniel “Misty”; children: Catherine Smith of Wichita, Kan., Eric his wife Shawn Smith of Centerton, Ark.; step-sons: Shane Penny and Richard Penny of Garfield, Ark.; 11 grandchildren: Nicholas Lawrence of Wichita, Kan., Nicole Lawrence of Wichita, Kan., Hannah Smith of Centerton, Ark., Josh Hartsock of Ozark, Ark., Erica (Aaron) Roughton of Centerton, Ark., Amanda (Kevin) Nikel of Rogers, Ark., Megan (James) Bowdston of Rogers, Ark., Cole (Holly) Penny of San Diego, Calif., Jeromy Penny of Washburn, Mo., Jacob Penny of Washburn, Mo., Tyler Penny of Rogers, Ark., Gavin Penny of Garfield, Ark., and Lindsay Webker of Washburn, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren; and twin sister Elaine Adcock of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter-in-law Teresa Fly of Washburn, Mo.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers Lyle Smith, Jim Smith, John Smith, Lynn Smith; sisters Doris Overdick and Ethel Schlotthauer and step son Marvin Penny.
Inurnment and Military Honors will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
