Ross DeVol will join the Walton Family Foundation’s Walton Fellows Program. He will study national economic trends during his one-year tenure at the foundation. He is former chief research officer for the Milken Institute, an economic think tank headquarte­red in California. He has served as senior vice president of Wharton Econometri­cs, a predecesso­r firm of IHS Global Insight Inc., director of economic planning at CSX, economist at Chase Econometri­cs and economic analyst at Union Pacific. He is an appointee to California Treasurer John Chiang’s Council of Economic Advisors. DeVol holds a master’s degree in economics from Ohio University.

Happy Douglas joined the Rogers office of Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette. She joined the U.S. Navy after high school and spent four years as a religious program specialist at Naval Air Station, Kingsville, Texas. She then worked in business analytics and project management roles at the Wal-Mart Stores Inc. home office, Dell Inc., and Alltel.

Melanie Haney, APRN, AGCNS-BC, AOCNS, completed the Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist certificat­ion. The certificat­ion program requires participan­ts to pass a three-hour exam, which is based on the results of a role delineatio­n study of advanced oncology nursing practice, according to the Oncology Nursing Certificat­ion Corporatio­n website.

Elaine Porter, MSN, APRN, AOCNP, completed the Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practition­er certificat­ion. The certificat­ion program requires participan­ts to pass a threehour exam, which is based on the results of a role delineatio­n study of advanced oncology nursing practice, according to the Oncology Nursing Certificat­ion Corporatio­n website.

Dr. Justin Hunt will take over as senior vice president and chief medical officer for Ozark Guidance on Oct. 30. He is a board certified psychiatri­st and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program alumnus. Hunt most recently served as mental health assistant chief and psychiatri­st supervisor within the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He earned a bachelor of science in biochemist­ry from the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le, where he graduated summa cum laude; a master of science in health and health care research from the University of Michigan; and a doctor of medicine from UAMS.

Weston Mars, a FedEx Freight truck driver from Fayettevil­le, was selected to join the Arkansas Road Team. Mars will join 12 other drivers responsibl­e for sharing the trucking industry’s message of safety, importance and sustainabi­lity with the public. He is a member of the Lowell Service Center Safety Committee and a second-generation truck driver. Candidates for the Road Team competed in the final stage of a selection process on Oct. 9 in Little Rock.

Devin Dishner was named opportunit­ies director in Northwest Arkansas for the Richland Group Inc., a digital marketing and design firm with offices in Fayettevil­le and Fort Smith. He is a Hubspot certified inbound marketing profession­al. Dishner graduated from University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and minors in marketing and journalism. He was the student marketing promotions director of the UCA Athletic Department, marketing coordinato­r at Salter Properties and public relations and sales intern with the Arkansas Travelers. Dishner is a member of an NWA chapter of Business Network Internatio­nal and a participan­t in the NWA Startup Junkie community.
