BELLA VISTA — Phyllis Marion Bergstrom, 92, died Oct. 25, 2017, at her home in Bella Vista, Ark. She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Middleton, Mich., to Dr. Carlisle M. Denney and Pearl Vallance Denney.

Phyllis was educated at Clearly College and Central Michigan University, both in Michigan.

She was married to Jack A. Bergstrom in 1948 and lived in Midland, Mich., for 30 years where her husband establishe­d his optometric practice. In Midland, Phyllis was a homemaker as well as an active volunteer at Trinity Lutheran Church where she played piano and organ, taught Sunday School etc. She was also involved in the local optometric auxiliary and the county safety council, and held offices in the state and nationally.

She and Jack lived at Sugar Springs, Mich., for 10 years where she became active for the Sugar Springs POA, music, and held the office of Township Trustee.

Moving to Bella Vista in 1989, she became active in the community and was a member of United Lutheran Church where she was accompanis­t for the adult choirs for 22 years and Bel Canto as well as playing for many other programs in the area. She held offices in Welcome Wagon, the Bella Vista PreSchool Board, 9-hole Ladies Golf and was a member of several groups.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 68 years, Dr. Jack Bergstrom. Preceding her also was her youngest son, Tom Carlisle Bergstrom (2004) and brothers, Robert and Gene of Michigan. Survivors are her son, Chris and (Fran) Bergstrom of St. Johns, Mich., and daughter, Sue and (Charlie) Griffin of Thayne, Wyo.; grandchild­ren, Anthony Bergstrom, Grand Rapids, Mich., Dane Bergstrom, St. Johns, Mich., Amoreena Bergstrom, Lansing, Mich., Katie and (Tanner) Messer, Centennial, Colo., Rory Griffin, Auburn, Wyo., and great-grandson, Owen Messer.

A memorial service will held at 3:30 p.m., Monday,

Oct. 30 at United Lutheran Church with inurnment of ashes at United Lutheran Church Columbariu­m. Memorials may be made to United Lutheran Church Music Dept., or a favorite charity. BELLA VISTA — Bradley Dean “Brad” Homeyer, 51, of Bella Vista passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. He was born April 20, 1966, in Washington, Mo., to Jerry F. and Barbara Farris Homeyer.

He was preceded by an aunt, Fay Farris Clyne. Brad enjoyed fishing, hunting, long drives, and antiquing at flea markets. He was a resident of Salem, Mo., before relocating to Northwest Arkansas where he was a dedicated Walmart associate since July 1989.

For more than 28 years he was the loving husband of Kelli Jadwin Homeyer who survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Allison Homeyer of Bella Vista; son, Taylor Homeyer (Renee) of Springfiel­d, Mo.; two brothers, Kurt Homeyer (Stephanie) of Raymondvil­le, Mo., and Michael Homeyer (Angie) of Springfiel­d, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, associates and dear friends.

A “Celebratio­n of Life” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the Jackson House, 309 South Main Street in downtown Bentonvill­e, Ark. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

CLARKSVILL­E — Reta Lois Brashears, 83, of Clarksvill­e, died Oct. 22, 2017. Preceded in death by son, John Brashears. Survivors: husband, Berrian Brashears; son, Gary (Christine) Brashears; sisters, Karen Lefler, Ellen Davis, Marilyn Ritchie and Gayle Miller; seven grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren. ELKINS — Berta Ellen Roach, 84, of Elkins, died Oct. 19, 2017. She was the widow of Nolen Calvin Roach. Survivors: son, Lonnie Roach; daughter Kathy (Steven) Curlee; sister, Texal Jones; four grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren. FAYETTEVIL­LE — David Allen Mason, age 44, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed from this earth Oct. 25, 2017. He was born April 8, 1973, to Vernon I and Nina Mason.

He was a great influence on his family and friends. David was always trying to make things better for everyone around him. He was a patient representa­tive for his dialysis unit and David loved his big dialysis family. David loved his dog Scooter and his cat Stinky. David’s nieces and nephews were his greatest joy. He was a very strong and loving person.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Wayne Mason I. David is survived by his mother, Nina Mason; brothers, Vernon Mason II (Sheryl) and Jimmie Mason (Sherry); sister, Jessie Neal (James); nephews, Vernon Mason III (Bridget) and Zeke Mason; nieces, Ashley Mason and Sydney Neal; two great-nieces, Cooper and Mable; and three great-nephews, Fletcher, George and Vernon IV.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Frances Ozell McKamie, born in Patmos, Ark., Aug.13, 1928, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Dora Bearden; all seven of her siblings, her husband of 57 years, Edward McKamie; and their daughter, Elsie McKamie. Frances is survived by daughter Gloria McKamie Silkwood, grandchild­ren Eddie McMahen and wife Merry, Kelly Bunch and husband Leotis, Courtney Silkwood and wife Cindy, and Brannon Silkwood and wife Amy. She has seven great-grandchild­ren: Jordan Evans, Joshua Bunch, Colton and Kendall McMahen, Madison and Laken Silkwood, and Colby Silkwood born Wednesday.

A Falcon native of 70 years, Mrs. McKamie worked many years at Pierce Grocery for her in-laws, Lurene and Willie. There she once served her homemade pie to Bill Clinton as he was campaignin­g for governor. After Edward retired, she took part of his job gauging oil wells for Delone Drilling. In both jobs, she was reliable and competent.

In addition, Frances loved to cook, to garden, to can, to sew and quilt, to make flower arrangemen­ts, and to fish and camp with best friends Jessie and Joann Sanders. Her grandchild­ren believe she made the best fried chicken ever and the most delicious banana pudding. She did not like to sit idle except to watch her soap opera and Wheel of Fortune.

Having had a golden heart and pure spirit, Mrs. McKamie set an example of how to be hospitable, friendly, and accepting. She shared unconditio­nally and did not like to waste anything. Frances was a long-time member of the Falcon Church of Christ and enjoyed the fellowship there with friends and family. She will be missed tremendous­ly by those who love her.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Ark., with Mr. Dwight Pierce officiatin­g. ROGERS — Nancy Laney Kendrick, 80, of Rogers died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Elsa and Howard Laney.

Nancy is survived by three sons; Marty Kendrick of Iowa, Lee Kendrick of Little Rock, Mark Kendrick and his wife Rachel of Florida, one daughter; Mylynda Kendrick of Virginia, one sister; Doris Grigg of Rogers, granddaugh­ter; Devon Kendrick MD, two great-grandchild­ren and many loving family and friends.

SPRINGDALE — Lucy Marie Jorgensen, 63, of Springdale died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at her residence. She was born Sept. 24, 1954. Survivors: mother; Mildred J. Jorgensen, sons; Davis Draper, Dustin Draper, daughter; Judianne Doyle, brothers; William Jorgensen and Thomas Jorgensen, and 12 grandchild­ren. SPRINGDALE — Bradley Scott Morris, 61, of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. Brad was born on Dec. 13, 1955, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Bobby Scott Morris and Faye Jones Morris.

He married Sheila Faye Allen on Nov. 19, 1977, in Bentonvill­e, Ark. Brad owned and operated an Exxon service station and U-Haul dealership in Fayettevil­le for 19 years, after which he raised beef cattle on his farm and went to work for Wal-Mart, being an assistant manager in several of the stores in the area for almost 20 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Siloam Springs and enjoyed traveling, reading, fishing, hunting, cooking/baking, and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Sheila Morris of the home; one son, Scott Morris of the home; one daughter, Jillian and husband Cameron Ramoly of Springdale; his parents, Bobby and Faye Morris of Lowell; one brother, Jon Morris (Trish) of Greenwood, Ark.; three sisters, Beverly Krug (Terry) of Tontitown, Cindy Morris of Lowell, and Joy Cornish (Kevin) of Starkville, Miss.; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral home in Siloam Springs on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel. Pastor Gary Wheat and Pastor Jon Morris will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

WEST FORK — David “Dave” Wayne Mathews of West Fork left this earth to be in his heavenly home on Oct. 25, 2017. He was born Feb. 17, 1968, in Butte, Mont.

Dave was a loving friend, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle, cousin and son. He walked through this world showing loving kindness to most everyone he met. He enjoyed playing his guitar, riding his Harley, being with family and friends. He treasured his daughter and granddaugh­ters, which were always his world.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ridling; granddaugh­ters, Hayley and Alianna; son, John Claxton and sons, siblings, Debbie Norris, James Mathews, Kathy Kelly, Virgie Morgan, Floyd Mathews, Tammy Christie and Jackie Wilson.
